Stone Age

We are changing out the stone on our house...cuz we don't like it, cuz it should go down to the cement and it doesn't and because they did an awful job when the house was built. Plus, its ready for something new so we are looking forward to this new stone to be put on the house. It should happen within the next few weeks when the stone comes and our contractor is able to put it on. We cannot wait!! I will post pics in a few weeks of the new stone and our new house color all the way finished. Oh, and we have a few outside landscape projects about to happen this week...I will post more soon. We are trying to shove in as many projects as we can before it gets too cold!!

Carnival Time!

We went to Hudson's school carnival a couple weeks ago. It was SO much fun!
 Plinko games
 Ring toss
 Prizes
 Candy Galore
 TP Toss
 Sweet Maycee Moo
 Slidin' Good Time
 Face Painting
 Hair Coloring
Cake Walkin' Good time!!

Painting

We have been experiencing some craziness around our house. We had most of our downstairs repainted inside of our house and we had the outside of the house repainted too. It was a wild few days right around when school started but it was SO worth it! The painters did a fantastic job and we love the results!! I will post more inside pictures soon but here is a shot of the outside during the action!!

Cousins

The kiddos enjoying a movie in their sleeping bags with their cousin Tanner while the rest of the gang watches the Boise State game downstairs. They just love having a new cousin!!

Preschool Girl

Hadley started preschool a couple weeks ago. It was a good drop off with few tears. Since then it has been good and bad. She is such a momma's girl! She has a hard time anytime she isn't with me.

Light on the subject

We changed the light in our entryway. It was pretty easy other than the height of our ceilings. It is the second light i have done. I am no electrician but it was pretty fast!
Our old light had nothing wrong with it, just not my style.  I find myself glancing at our light now with a smile rather than blah. Its amazing how much it changes our space already.
We have a few more we will be changing in the next few weeks and I will share the pics. I love changing things in our house to make it more us. Grateful to have a house to change! I posted this on an app on my phone so my pic is sideways...sorry!

Meet and greet

<p>We met Hudson's kindergarten teacher last night. He was a man of few words ....very few words. He shook her hand and wouldn't tell her his name. She asked what it started with and he quietly said h. She said Hudson!! That was about all he said except bye at the end. She gave him a kindergarten survival kit with a penny and some candy. I think she has him now already! He can't resist money or candy.

She is super tall and thin. We have heard she is awesome! We can't wait for school to start on Tuesday!

Plasma car

These things are the coolest!!! Both kiddos love to zoom around on it!

Bike riding machine

Three times working with him for about 10 to 15min each time and he was already off on his own zooming around!!

House Projects

I have been stressing lately. Yep. Big projects to do around the house on top of having to sew 600 pillow covers, package and mail them along with taking care of three kiddos and Mike and everything else in normal life tends to stress me out a bit. I guess if we hadn't had company come here and there and be out of town a bit and all that jazz, I would have been slightly better. But now that my two major DIY projects of the month are done, I am feeling quite chill. So we were going for a table that fit more than our last one did which was 4 people and their plates but NO extra food. We wanted a 6 seater at least. I checked the stores and was not going to pay $1200-1500. I did that once before and never did feel like I loved that table...at least not $1500 worth. Plus, I knew I would worry about the kids ruining it so much more if I paid that much for it! So I started scouring craigslist. I knew this was the one the minute I saw it. The table originally was not hideous just not my style of color in a wood.

The chairs on the other hand had some cool features, same front legs as the table and cool back. But the seats were nasty. I planned on recovering them though so that didn't bother me too much.

Here is my lovely table all finished in her glory. Heirloom White Spray paint and a glaze of Behr Espresso Bean Paint. Mike and I both LOVE it. SO worth the time to redo it!

Side flower details
Shot of the table leg and those snazzy chairs.

I bought the cutest fabric to make drapes for the dining room and this green chevron fabric just coordinates with it so well.

Here is my old dresser gone tv stand. If only you could see this thing in all its old ugly glory. I think Mike thought I was a titch crazy when I told him we were buying this. It was a BEAR to sand but now that it is done, so worth it!!

I took the drawers off the top right and top left drawers so they are only drawer fronts. We also drilled 3 round holes in the back of it for the cords. They have cool hinges that pop down for easy access to the PS2 and Wii. The middle cabinet we removed a drawer and put a flat piece of wood to house our DVR. It is so functional for us and we love it! No more of my little Maycee Moo smacking our TV.

Something Blue…

001
So when we bought our house, I knew right away I would be repainting this wall. Nothing against whoever painted it, but it just doesn’t go with my stuff/décor. It is one of the first things you see when you walk in our house too.

Here it is a little lighter, and a little less blue:

I should take another picture now that our new couch is back in its place and paint supplies are put away…but maybe another day.

Still no pictures hung up yet but one day…..

Seasick

On Tuesday night when I was putting the kiddos to bed (cuz Mike was at work late), Hudson said the prayer. He started out with his usual please bless us that there won’t be any bad guys or silly guys in our dreams. Then I interrupted him and told him he needed to remember to be thankful for things and say those things first. So he starts off saying he is thankful for Fuzz and his whole family. Then he says please bless our family that we won’t ever ever be sick again. And please bless us that we won’t be seasick if we ever go out on a boat in the water.

I was like, where is he getting this from? Then he told me afterwards that he told his preschool teacher that when he was in my belly that we went on a boat and got seas sick. Not sure he heard that from, since it isn’t true but I had to laugh anyway. He says the most random things.

Midnight Oil

Mike has a great job. Can’t complain about it at all. The people are great. He enjoys the work and he has fantastic hours. He had to stay Monday night til about midnight and turn around and head back there by 7ish the next morning. This is only the 3rd time in about 10 months that he has had to work past 5 so really, we can’t complain.

I am just grateful he is willing to work so hard to support our family. Glad I got myself a good “one”.

Last Week

Last week was a bit insane. Huds was sick with bronchitis which turned into pneumonia. Hadley got pneumonia and was hacking like an old smoker man, til she gagged or threw up sometimes. It was a ball of fun. No one slept well. No one ate well. Hudson laid around on the couch and napped a lot. A first for him.

I was ready to get out of the house with some serious cabin fever. I also dropped my phone in the toilet for the first time ever. Why did it have to be with a phone that was only 2 weeks old?? Oh well. It’s only money literally down the drain, right? haha

Glad that the things that matter are finally feeling better. A new phone is here even though it is not as good as  my first one. Weird.

Glad we survived through last week.

4 and 5 months

4 months

5 months

Maycee Moo is now 5 months...where did the time go? I kept meaning to post her 4 month picture and I think I totally spaced it. Now that she is 5 months, we can just post them both.

Maycee is a BIG eater, but she did not like her rice cereal as much as we all thought she would. She pretty much freaked and refused to eat much of it until we added applesauce a few days later. She has since had peas which she didn't like much, squash which she didn't like much either and sweet potatoes which she likes pretty well. She is our very first picky eater as a baby. Both the other kids never seemed bothered by any of the food. Mace definitely lets it be known that she does NOT like stuff.

Maycee is a good sleeper even though sometimes she still thinks she needs to eat once at night. (Wrong I say!! haha) She loves to play with Hudson and Hadley. She loves attention from them as long as it isn't too much attention.

She loves to play on her play mat and is okay with being on her tummy for a time. She loves to hold toys and chew on them even though Hadley gets mad at her and tells her she can't do that.

She has found her feet and loves to hold onto them. She loves to roll from her tummy to her back but she doesn't seem to do it for anyone but Hadley and me.

She is more smiley than Hadley was but a little less than Hudson. Just right in between. She has a similar temperament too, right in the middle.

She is such a cutie and loves to snuggle. She loves to sleep with her blanket over her face.
