Graduation at Last

001

Isn’t it just amazing how green and luscious the campus looks? Sad to say that I drove around on this campus many a times but this was the first and last time I actually set foot on it.

003

Hadley was just a bit excited for the fountains.

006

We were entertaining the kiddos before the graduation started.

007

What an amazingly southern looking building. I just love college campuses.

011

Check out that Law Library.

015

Oh, and there is my Graduate.

016

He sure makes that tam look good.

019

Sad to say there were no bagpipes. Seriously, that was one of my favorite things about graduation at Washburn. It just set the tone. But this guy leading the procession was a close second. Pretty cool looking.

025

There is the smile of a guy that is SO ready to be done with school.

029

Oh, and you see that lady in the red dress in the background. She just evokes Southern to me so I had to take a picture. Everyone at the graduation just looked Southern. From the men’s cream/pink or cream/light blue striped suits, bow ties, women’s hats, their dresses, their expensive handbags, sweaters tied around people’s necks, oh the list could go on and on. It just evokes a very Southern feel. I love it.

034

Hudson kept busy by diggin in the dirt. Thanks to my Mom for entertaining the kiddos during most of the ceremony so I could enjoy it.

044

And there it is. Looks pretty official now.

055

Hello very hot family…did I mention the whole thing was outside. I heard people saying it was a miracle it was so cool. Cool?? It was like 90 degrees. A humid 90 degrees. It was a titch bit warm. Hadley is a sweatball and I am as thrilled to be holding her in this pic as she is to be held. haha

063

Then we went to this great luncheon for the LLM students and their fams. Check out that view. Hello Athens. There are trees everywhere. I thought Boise had a lot of trees. Nope. Athens puts our City of Trees to shame. I am a little happy to say though that I do feel a lot less claustrophobic than I did driving around Athens. There are so many trees you usually can’t really see where you are in relation to anything else and the trees start to feel like they are caving in on you every once in a while. But it is nice and green.

Congrats Mike. You are the best graduate I know! You worked hard, you persevered better than I could have. You made us proud! All I have to say is WAHOO you are done AND you have a job! Can I get a whoop whoop??

Bouncety Bounce

001In Athens, they have the coolest Bounce House place. My friend Joy had a groupon to there and invited us to come along. The kids had a blast! We had fun chatting it up and they were totally worn out by the time we were done. I would say, mission accomplished.

The only bad part was I had to “help” Hadley up the side of this slide so she could go down. And of course, I had to go down too. Being prego and carrying a toddler does not help me breathe any better. I get so winded people around me were probably wondering if I would ever catch my breath.  The joy of pregnancy, gotta love it.

009

Sandy Creek

Yes, it is sad. I am blogging about things we did in early May at the end of June. What ever happened to the days when I blogged everyday? Oh well.

001

Sandy Creek is such a beautiful place. It reminds me sort of Sandy Point in Boise but a little more 50’s family vacay spot straight out of a movie.

003

Hudson was having a blast with his bud Jocelyn swimming in the water. They were all over the place. Good thing it isn’t too deep right there.

005

Hadley was getting into the whole water thing too. The first time she fell with her head going under it freaked her out a bit. But then after that she was all about swimming around and did NOT want to get out.

007

But when she did, it was to come and get a snack. I know. Real shocker with Hads. Oh and that is my good friend Joy in that pic. She was a very good crafting buddy of mine while we were in GA.

009

Here are a few other friends that were with us that day. Yes, just about everyone in the South has a hat like that. And yes, I do now too. I LOVE it! Besides, it makes me feel all Southern Belle-ish when I wear it.

010

Hudson in heaven in the water.

012

Mike took a day off of studying during finals to come with us. What a sweet guy! Can I just say how glad I am that “finals” are forever over for him?

013

The Dads weren’t entirely up for just chilling on the beach in the sun so they got out a mitt and a ball and played catch. Good thing we always keep that in our trunk!

016

We had a yummy BBQ after everyone was all swimmed out.

022

And here am I about 17 weeks prego in a swim suit. Oooh, look at those nasty pale white legs of mine. Hello Summer.

Baseball Boys

003

Hudson is quickly becoming as obsessed with baseball as Mike is. The funny thing is that I think it is just an innate trait. Maybe it is somehow laced in his DNA. Mike doesn’t really talk to him about it that much and we don’t ever push it on him or anything. He just honestly truly loves it.

005

For his birthday, Hudson got a tee ball set. He had been asking to go take his bat out just about everyday so we figured it was time to get him into the first stage of baseball, the tee. He still loves to just have you pitch him the ball but this is nice for him to practice with too.

004

Before we left Georgia, we all went to a park nearby one day and spent the day hitting balls, or chasing them in Hadley’s case.

008

Hudson had some really good hits too.

011

Thank goodness he got some athletic ability to him.

019

His dad has it too. He shot that ball WAY out there.

020

I hit one too although I was a bit more worried about hitting Hadley with the bat than I was with hitting the ball.

Random

Here are some random ideas Hudson did at preschool. They made an owl tree with thumbprints and some sticks.
This was their "pinata" that Hudson just LOVED! He got to decorate it and open it up after preschool. It had tons of goodies to eat and fun things to play with. I loved our preschool group in GA. It started out with me and a friend doing it for our two kiddos and ended up being with 5 of us and our 5 kiddos by the end. The kids were so fun to teach and to watch learn and it was a blast! This is the face Hadley makes when something is loud or she is surprised by something. It is hilarious!

This is one of Hadley "helping" me do some sewing amidst all of our packing. She is such a Momma's girl and has to be at my side 24/7. Sometimes this can get old, but usually I just remind myself that she won't want to do this forever unfortunately. She is fun to have around though.

Kick that ball!!

Hudson's sports clinic had a kick ball day. He absolutely loved it. Mike was able to take a break from studying to come see him in action too. It was a lot of fun watching the different kids. Some were totally into it and some were not as much.Hudson was loving going up to "bat" to kick the ball. ***Oh, and don't you just love my camera. Some little person dropped our smaller camera on the hardwood floor in GA. Now the front of it is all jacked up and doesn't open and close. Gotta love that!
The kids were being reminded to run from one base to the next. I can't wait til Hudson plays tee ball or soccer. It is going to be hilarious to watch!Getting his loot at the end. They give them a certificate and a trophy. Way to go Huds!
