I think Mike is starting to get his sports fix for the next semester. He went to the BYU vs BSU basketball game on Saturday night and had a really good time. Boise State beat out ranked BYU! Couldn't believe that one! Right now, he is at the Humanitarian Bowl Game between Georgia Tech and Fresno State. He is probably freezing but at least its all for the game!

New Traditions
Then we hung it from a board and started whacking away at it! We even did the blindfold, spinning and everything. We wanted to make it authentic!! hehe It was a blast and we plan to do it again next year, but we might just buy one to fill instead of making one! That would sure be a lot easier!
Since Brent is the one that actually made most of it, we figured he should be the one to completely destroy it, so we got video of him doing the job! Sorry, its a bit long but I don't have the right program here to edit it down!

"Faux" Christmas
As many of you know, we have two Christmases every year....one with my dad and one with my mom. This year, we spent the actual Christmas day at my dad's. We had a great time. We woke up around 8 and Hudson was very excited about his big truck that Santa brought him. It can be ridden on or used as a walking toy. I think he is going to have a blast with that thing. He has figured out how to make all the buttons make noise which is pretty fun for him too!

We had a good time opening gifts, eating good food and playing the totally insane card game...which lives up to its name and is pretty insane. We watched the Bourne Ultimatum which is a really good movie too. We had fun harassing the cat too. Hudson and the cat love to look at each other. The cat is actually pretty playful/evil so I think it was a Christmas miracle that he wasn't attacking everyone all day on Christmas. It was kind of nice to have him be a little docile. Hudson was all about trying to grab him...don't think the cat is that docile though!
Then we headed off to my mom's house for what I like to call "Faux" Christmas Eve. We had a great dinner with them, helped wrap presents and played games too. Hudson got some Christmas jammies from Grandma L. so he was whisked off to bed sporting those!

Hudson made a killing from Santa! He also got some cute clothes and some other fun treasures. He was spoiled from just about everyone! He seemed to get into the unwrapping a little bit and loved the toys. He could hardly stop long enough to nap. I think he was afraid to miss anything!

We had a great breakfast and opened presents! Hudson got a state quarter collection from his Great Grandma so the rest of us got out our collections and went through all of our quarters to see what states we still needed.

Then my mom was nice enough to watch Hudson so we could go see I am Legend. It is such a good movie! I loved it. It was different than I thought it would be but I was not disappointed!
All in all, Christmas and "Faux" Christmas were a blast! We had a blast spending time with family and eating way too much good food!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family at a dinner. The food was great and it was good to see everyone again. We don't see them enough that is for sure! My cousin's little girl was playing with Hudson. It was so cute to watch them together. Hudson kept grunting at her and she was like...that little man can talk! It was so cute! Hudson was getting tired though so we left there to head to my dad's. Hudson passed out in seconds once we were in the car.
We played games at my dad's and had a great time. Bryan and Ty also serenaded us with guitar music. Its so great to have so many people that can play the guitar around!
Hudson stayed up way past his bedtime and so did we but it was well worth it!

First Snowball

Since we have gotten more snow in Boise than normal, there is still some on the ground. Mike decided to bring some in to see how Hudson would react. His facial expressions were great! He didn't quite know what the deal was with that cold round thing!

BSU in the Hawaii Bowl
We went to my Dad's house to watch BSU play Eastern Carolina in the Hawaii Bowl. It was a lot of fun and a real edge of the seat kind of game til the end. Unfortunately, unlike last year, we were not able to pull it out in the end. We ended up losing 41 to 38 in the last few seconds because of a field goal ECU made. Kind of a bummer but we still had a good time watching!

This picture of Hudson was right at the 4th quarter and he had been asleep. He woke up right when things were getting good and peered behind the pillows at us and smiled. I think he knew the game was starting to get really intense! He just couldn't sleep through it!

Christmas Threads

Hudson wore his Christmas outfit to church on Sunday to listen to my mom play the flute in the church program, so I had to take some pictures of him being festive. I took some great pictures of Mike and him as well as his uncles, Bryan and Brent and him. He probably won't let me dress him like this for long so I figure I have to take advantage of it while he is young!

Little candy houses

We started a new tradition this year for Christmas. We decided to make gingerbread houses. It was really a lot of fun. We all came up with completely different houses and it was really cool to see what everyone designed. Not sure I really want to eat it after its stale and sitting around for a few days but it was a blast making them.
Mike was actually eating down part of ours so it would be the right height for the roof. Way to take one for the team!Mike's and mine features green grass with flower gardens in front, light shining through the windows and french doors out the master bedroom...hmm, guess I went a little overboard in my house making.

Here is Hudson with all five completed houses...figured even though he was asleep while we made them, it will be one of his Christmas traditions too! The one on the far left is Ray's mountain cabin and the next one is my mom's. It looks like the ideal gingerbread house. It is so cute and she was super fast making it too. Next year, I might have to get more tips from her on how its done!!
Bryan and his house, everything is in its perfect spot. He did an awesome job!
Here is Brent with his oh so trendy looking house. It was very contemporary!
I made Bry let me take a pic of him testing out the rest of the frosting. It was yummy...I think I ate too much of it cuz it gave me a stomach ache!
