Obviously since I haven't posted in awhile, I had to play catch up the last few weeks and this post is kind of more a catch up of what Hudson has been doing lately more than what we have been up to.
Hudson has started mimicking the things we say and saying more words too. He says daddy all the time now which is super cute! He really likes to enunciate the last syllable. So it's like da-DDY, da-DDY! He says mama sometimes too but mostly dada or daddy. Then he has added more words like shower, cracker, tada, Jodi, Ty, doggy, and waffle. Those are the words that he has said multiple times and really are the words, some of the other words he has said may or may not really be the real thing. I usually wait for someone else to point out he has said something. That way I am not just trying to hear words in his babbling! It is so fun to listen to him start saying things and understanding what things are. Now I don't feel so weird for always talking to him even when I felt like he didn't understand me at all!
He has been doing some other funny things lately too. He has these star toys that he will put on his head and balance it on there. This is so goofy to watch! He sings e-i-e-i-o. He kept singing this one over and over very LOUDLY in the car on the way to Boise. It was so stinking cute. He loves to dance to music and sing. I am hoping he will have some musical abilities out of all of this, maybe he won't "talk/sing" like his Dad does. hehe

Campaigning for Laziness
Yesterday we helped my brother pass out some fliers for the voting district where he lives. He is running for a precinct committeeman position or some sort of long political title.
I was the driver while Mike and my other brother canvased a neighborhood. It was pretty fun and it is always nice to feel like you are helping with the "cause".
Then we pretty much did the usual Memorial Day tasks: BBQ and lay around! Actually my mom's family always has a big picnic and softball game but this year with the wedding and everyone traveling, we decided to forego it. Mike was thoroughly disappointed that it was canceled. I guess we will just have to go another time! I would hate for him to have brought his bat and mitts for nothing!
We played Taboo and Cranium with highlights like Brick House and my acting out Leave it to Beaver!! Guess you would have to be there to truly enjoy those! I always love spending time with family. It is good to be home! We were already drooling and dreaming over future houses and locations. Can't wait to be back permanently!

Honoring Memorial Day
Mike had his share of cemetery visits this Memorial Day. He rode with his sister, Jodi, down to see his Grandma, Aunt and Uncle. He and Hudson had such a great time leaving flowers and visiting with family. I was sad I missed seeing them but I was so glad Mike was able to go down. With our crazy schedule, we never know when we will be able to see them again!!
Then on our trip home yesterday, we stopped by another cemetery. It was cool to see some Great, Great Grandparents' graves. I actually like to go to cemeteries because I am always amazed at how old some of them are. When I was little, I used to try and find the oldest ones I could find.

Jump Jump

Hudson and I got on the trampoline at Kelli's reception. He loved it most of the time, even though he was quite unsure of the whole thing.
I like trampolines too but am more just a jumper than someone that does crazy tricks on it. Kelli did some flips on it at the end of the reception in her wedding dress!! I bet those pictures will turn out awesome!!

SLC or bust!
We headed down to SLC on Friday, hit up a few fun stores and headed to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for my cousin's wedding dinner. We had a great time stuffing our faces and chatting with fam. We took Trax down there which was packed of course, but Hudson seemed to like it on the way back when it wasn't so chaotic!

I love the temple at night. It looked so gorgeous with the darker blue sky behind it too. The Salt Lake Temple is probably one of my favorites but since we got married there, that might add to my prejudice!
Saturday was crazy busy with the wedding and helping decorate for the reception. The reception turned out beautiful! They had it in the groom's parent's backyard and it was seriously perfect...I would love a backyard like that! Their cake was so stinking cute too! I LOVE it! Hudson had a blast playing on the swings. We enjoyed the food and seeing all of our extended family. We were so glad we could be a part of their big day!

Tooth #8
Hudson got his 8th tooth over the weekend. It is kind of nice because now his bottom teeth will be even and not look so off centered!!

Park City
We had such a blast in Park City. The only bad part was that the week went by WAY too fast! Here are a few pictures of the place we stayed in:

It was super nice. These were a few of my favorite things about our villa:

We had a bunch of people come visit us and it was so much fun! Mike's sis, Jodi, and her fam came up on Saturday night and stayed with us. We had a good time swimming in the pool and hot tubbing on our balcony. We stayed up way too late as usual. It was a blast! Thanks again for coming up you guys!!
On Sunday, we had another sibling of Mike's, Lee, come up and join us all with two of his daughters. We had a birthday celebration for our niece. We watched 27 Dresses that she got for her birthday, ate a bunch of junk food and the traditional cake/ice cream.
On Monday, friends from Topeka randomly happened to stay at the same place for their anniversary so we got ice cream and hot tubbed with them too. We were being goofy like usual with them and were so glad they decided to spend some of their anniversary with us too!
Then we had some of our very good friends come stay with us Tuesday night. We had such a great time with them. Their kids were so good with Hudson and it was so great to see all of them again! I wish we could see you more often!! Thanks for coming even though the timing wasn't the best! We loved having you!!

Then my brothers, mom and step dad came and stayed Wednesday and Thursday nights with us. We were able to go to the Olympic Park which was awesome!
My camera died while we were there so I only have a few pictures of it right now but maybe will post more later! It was so interesting to see. I went to a medals ceremony during the Olympics but never did go to any of the events. It was crazy to see everything they had up there. It was really interesting! Oh, and it started snowing the last few days we were there. I couldn't believe that it was actually snowing in May!!

Just a bit more Park City
I took a few more pics at Park City that didn't really have to do with anything other than being where we stayed. I can never have enough pictures of Hudson so I love to post them too!
This one of Hudson and his crazy sleeping positions...leg hiked all the way up. It can't be comfortable!!

Pick up games
We had such a great time at Mike's sister's house today. We were so excited to see all of them. It had been WAY too long since the last time! Hudson had such a fun time. He started doing the cutest thing there too.
He picked up the box for Jenga and started putting away all the blocks in it. He was so intent on it.
We were getting a kick out of watching him! He also would stack the blocks on top of each other or on other things. Then of course he would knock them all over!

Long time no see...
Even though I was only going on about 3 hours of sleep, I was so glad to see 3 of my old college roomies! We got together and ate Cafe Rio (one of my faves!!) and just chilled like old times. I was so glad to meet Hallie and Kaylee too. Hudson had a good time playing with the girls! We had a great time reminiscing. It is always a blast to see them and I am so glad we could work it out! Maybe next time, all six of us can get together!

In one word...
LONG! That is the only way I can describe the trip to Park City. We left at about 11 am CST and didn't get in until about 3:15 am CST. I was so sick of being in the car and we were SO tired. I guess 1,050 miles in the car can do that to you! hehe Thank Goodness Hudson was a champ during the drive. I really couldn't believe how good he was. I thought he would struggle but he was great. (The portable DVD player helped, but he sleeps great in the car too which is nice!) We only got about 3 hours of sleep that night too because Hudson was on Central Time still and woke up at 6:30am (which would be 7:30 at home). Mike and I were so tired but we were glad to be on vacation so we didn't want it to stop us from having fun or getting that Cafe Rio fix!

Another kitchen tip...
One of my pet peeves is nasty Tupperware! (Even though I am guilty right now of having a bunch of it in my house. It drives me crazy!) Probably a stupid thing to be bugged by but it still bugs me! One of the things that bugs me about it is when it gets tinted by having tomato based foods in it. So to prevent it from staining your Tupperware or plastic containers, try spraying with cooking spray before filling with tomato based foods.

Project Ball Cap
He kept touching it and checking to see if it was there but he didn't take it off immediately like he usually does. I think we are making some progress! I think it is so cute when babies wear hats so I have been wanting Hudson to wear one, besides all the practical reasons for having them wear them in the summer too! We used to have Hudson wear one quite a bit but once he was old enough to pull it off his head, he did. So we haven't been able to have him wear one for quite awhile. But maybe he will let us keep it on him now! Unfortunately, this one is a bit small so we are going to have to get him a new one! I am sure Mike will be more than happy to oblige!
