Sour Face

We are all pretty big fans of sour candy around here. Hadley has even had her initiation with a warhead recently.

Hudson loves anything sour. Almost nothing will phase him. Oh man, does he crack me up!

Bubbles

Hudson is obsessed with bubbles lately. I swear we spend half of our time outside with them lately. It is so nice to be out in good weather though so I can't complain. Bubbles are the coolest things though. It doesn't surprise me that kids could play with them for hours.

3 days of fun....

I guess it is only fitting that a brand new 3 year old would have a 3 day long celebration! He called his Grandma and asked her if he could open up a gift a day early. Since she is just like me (and apparently Hudson!) she told him she wouldn't want to wait either and to go ahead! He got a cool dinosaur shirt and an awesome book about dinosaurs. He was super excited to read it that night for bedtime!
Hudson has been telling us all the time lately that he is going to be a doctor. He asked me on his birthday if he could be one right now. He will check our hearts and ask if something is wrong with us. It's pretty cute. So he got a Dr kit from his Grandma. He has already put it to great use!I never tire of his crazy faces! On his actual birthday, we got chicken nuggets and fries for lunch at his request. Then we had a JRC social that night so we couldn't do too much more that night, besides open gifts of course! He was SO excited to get a ball and a mitt! He shouted BASEBALL!! as soon as he saw them. Then he said all he needed was a bat, which we didn't get him but he ended up needing it Saturday for his pinata! On Saturday, we had a picnic and broke open a pinata...aka the dinosaur egg.
Here is Hudson in action with his new bat.
Here was the winning hit that broke it open!Suh-weet!!
Hudson diggin' in for that sugary goodness!
Love their expressions in this one!Happy 3rd Birthday Little Man!!

Two of 'em

Hadley has her two front teeth. I forgot to mention that before in her 9 month post. She finally got the other one last week. We were all SO glad!

Hadley 9 months

**Bad 2nd mom alert...apparently I don't have as many pictures of Hadley as I did Hudson. So her pictures are from Easter morning that I never posted. Guess I better get going on taking more pics!!**
Hadley turned 9 months recently. She has totally leveled off in her weight since she was about 6 months old. She has been around 18 pounds. This time she weighed in at 18 pounds 10 oz and was in the 50% for weight. She is 27 1/2 inches and is in the 50% for height. Her head is 55% which is such a shocker for our round headed kids!

She loves to clap her hands and jabbers all the time. She has also become very feisty lately. She wants her food NOW! And she sees no problem squealing as loudly as possible to let you know. Guess she thinks she deserves 'royal' treatment. It seems like we can never feed her enough either. She must be hiding it though cuz she is really thinning out. She loves to crawl up the stairs and is super fast. We have to keep them blocked off or else she will race over to them all day long. She loves to pull herself up on anything and everything. She can stand up by herself for a few seconds but since she often likes to be on her tip toes, she isn't doing too much forward progression yet. Sometimes I think it would be easier if she would just walk...but then again, you never know!Hudson and her have a blast playing together. It is so fun to watch him help entertain her. He loves to bring her toys now. If she is starting to fuss in the car, he will play peek a boo with her all on his own doing and it will make her laugh. It is the greatest!

She is such a sweet thing though. She likes to snuggle which I love. She won't wear headbands anymore which makes me sad. She just rips them off! She will feed herself food though. I love the stage once they start picking up their own food. It makes me so happy! It is so much easier. She also has totally mastered sippy cups. Such a nice thing too. She has never liked bottles so it is nice that she likes the cups. She has probably had a bottle like 4 or 5 times in her life. Oh well though, she has survived. And if she has an 'orange glow' to her...she LOVES to eat canned yams.

My Old Man

So this is a little late, but better late than never. Mike had his 30th bday. It was a lot of fun. He really enjoyed the book I made him with birthday wishes from people. We ate at Red Robin sans Hudson which was the closest thing we have had to a date for a long time! It was a lot of fun. They came out and sang to him and it embarrassed him a wee bit. It was great.

Mike never seemed to get the 'turning 30 years old syndrome.' Guess it's just another day older really. I would write a sappy 30 things I love about him or something like that but he knows I love him and I will spare everyone the read this year. Maybe next...

Easter Egg Huntin'

Hudson, Hadders and I decided to go over to our neighborhood egg hunt. Hudson just LOVES the Easter bunny and didn't want to miss a chance to see him. So we collected eggs and candy galore. Then Hudson followed the bunny into the clubhouse. It was sort of more like he escorted him in there. I couldn't keep up with him!He took a picture with him and got some fun bubbles. I don't know what his deal is with putting his fingers in his mouth lately. See above. What a yucky habit!Hadley was loving the bunny. This picture doesn't really show her adoration for him. But as soon as she saw him she started trying to jump out of my arms and was laughing and laughing. Glad to see she follows in Hudson's footsteps with his love of the bunny. But what is not to love about an animal that brings presents and candy to you??
