We made a gingerbread house with Huds but I think he was more into eating it than he was making it.
He munched on a ton of crackers and frosting so we kind of lost materials for the house.
The cracker laying down inside Hudson said was sleeping. The one to the side is Hudson's way of putting it together. Take a bite out of the side and then lean it up against the rest.
Mike helped Hudson create a path and put tiles on the roof.
I just wonder whose kid this is. I do not know where he gets all of this craziness from.

Apres la Fete
Hudson loving his Break the Ice game. Mike and him have played a ton of times already. Way to be a sport Daddy!
Hudson wanted to hold Hadley today. The funny thing is she is really not that small. It kind of cracks me up with her on his lap.
Ahhh!
Another one of Hadley sporting her new duds. What a cutie!!

Christmas in Fast Motion
Christmas this year was probably the best one so far since Huds was born. He was SO excited for it. He knew Santa was coming to town and was going to bring him something. He wasn't too picky though, since he just asked for a train table and some orange and blue presents. (Way to represent Boise State Huds...we didn't even tell him to say those colors either!)
The kiddos were super spoiled this year. I don't even know why Mike and I bother to get them gifts, seriously. The presents were piled as high as our couches. It was out of control.
Here is one of my favorite gifts I made the kiddos this year:
Here is Hadley looking so interested in her goodies from Santa.
Hadley looking too cute with part of her gift from her Grandma Goldie.
Mike is happier than a tornado in a trailer park holding RockBand 2. Wahoo...time to rock!
I love how Hadley actually looks like she knows what she is doing.
Pretty much the only shot of me. Guess that is what happens when I take most of the pictures.
Now onto Hudson, of course, he was spoiled with a train table from Santa.
We pretty much didn't do much else that morning but play with the trains and skype with all of our different families. He played on here for 3 hours straight with no need to open any other gifts. Guess that is why we stretched out opening our gifts for 3 days. He just wasn't that interested in them so I figured why open them all if he won't even pay attention. Thanks everyone for a FabUlOus Christmas! The only thing that would have made it better was to spend it with all of you!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
I haven't seen this much snow since I was a kid. Seriously.
These were from Christmas Eve. There is a TON more since then. With snow drifts, the front of our house has snow piled up almost as tall as Hudson. Pretty crazy. But since we didn't have many places to go it was kind of pretty to me. A bunch of law student families were going to get together for dinner on Christmas at a friend's house about a 1/2 hour away but the weather messed everything up. Luckily, we were still able to work it out today instead of yesterday. It is nice to have such good friends while we are away from family for the holidays.
And the snow is still out there. They canceled church tomorrow and "since there's no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."

'Twas the Night Before
Hudson was so happy to match up the pictures every day on this advent calendar that he got out of the Friend.
He was SuPeR excited to unwrap a gift on Christmas Eve too. He could barely stand still. It took about 5 minutes for us to get him to stand still for us to take a picture of him in them. Too much excitement? Or too much sugar?
Hadley opened up hers too, with a little help.
She even got help trying to get them on...
but it didn't seem to help. Poor girl has too big of thighs. (I even made them size 12 months. I sure hope she starts working those chunkers off soon, otherwise she won't fit into anything.)

Sucker
I am a sucker for kiddos in their jammies...

Here is a pic of Hudson after a nap this week. He fell asleep against the side of his crib and got an indent in his head and hair. Didn't seem to phase him though.

Santa Claus is coming...
Hudson was elated to go sit on Santa's lap a few weeks ago. They sang some tunes, starting with Hudson's fave, Up on the Housetop. This is Hudson showing his housetop.
He made a few Christmas cards.
Here he is showing one of them off. He was so proud of them.
He gobbled the candy cane up pretty quickly.
Hudson was not the least bit freaked out by Santa. He is a HUGE fan of him. He gladly hopped up on his lap and told him what he wanted for Christmas....
which was a train table and blue and orange presents of course.

A few pictures
This would have been the classic picture for our Christmas cards this year. He is oh so goofy. She is oh so serious. What a funny pair! And here are a couple that show off Hadley's rolls. I couldn't resist although I am sure she will be horrified I posted this when she is older. Sorry Hads!

Denied.
So yesterday was quite the day, first off I had my first ever civic experience...jury duty. For those that know me well, know that me going somewhere early morning was torture. Not because I can't get up, because we are always up early. But I get sick to my stomach getting places on time in the morning and unknown places are 10 times worse. Hence the reason I am such a stickler about being pretty much everywhere on time.
We had everything ready the night before, so we could easily drop off the kiddos with a friend and drop Mike off for his last final and for me to get there in plenty of time. All ran smoothly and I soon found myself peacefully looking at a magazine for craft ideas in the courthouse. We watched a 20 minute video which was actually pretty interesting and was even cooler when I saw a law student friend of ours in it. Then the best thing happened, I was one of 24 people automatically released. I was thrilled. I headed out into the bitter cold (Did I mention that I was not a fan of the cold weather?).
Went to get my kiddos, and poor Huds is all I have to say. Or my poor friend....hmmm. He had what we call the "Big D" (sorry but how else can I explain this?) and I think it snuck out on him since he didn't make it to the potty. Oh joy. She had the awesome opportunity to clean it up and give him a quick bath. (Thank you. Thank you.) Then she notices all these red bumps all over him. Checks out pics on the internet. (Which is just so me. I always do stuff like that. How did I ever live without the internet?) Then starts to wonder about him having chicken pox. I happen to get there about this time. Poor thing. I am pretty much feeling horrible about now. I LoAtHe putting people out with watching my kids and this was even worse. The funny thing is I don't mind watching other people's kids at all. The more the merrier. It's just my own weirdness that makes me hate to have to ask someone to watch mine. I know, messed up thinking process but that is just how it is.
Luckily, he has a rash/infection, non-contagious I might add on his back and belly. It is almost cleared up now with a little anti-bacterial soap, we are good to go. The kid is doomed though. He has the most sensitive skin ever. We also confirmed at the Doc for sure that he has eczema and pretty much the driest skin in all of Topeka, thanks to the cold weather. So we will be slathering on some oh so ooey-gooey lotion to keep those cute little bum cheeks and the rest of him, a little less dry.
On the bright side, jury duty is over. Mike is done with another semester. Hudson is taking a nap right now. Hadley is too. Life doesn't get much better.

5 months...
Hads is 5 months old now. She loves oatmeal cereal, although we haven't really tried her on anything other than rice cereal. haha She is actually starting to get a thinner face, not so many chins. Even though you can't always tell that! She loves to play in her exersaucer. She loves to roll all across our floor. She loves to touch people's faces. She is such a happy girl and still sleeps super well. Ahhhh, gotta have my sleep!
She loves her Daddy. She seriously lights up anytime he is around her. Sometimes I think she would prefer him to me (other when its time to eat!) but its also probably because she sees me all the time.
She is almost cutting in her two bottom teeth and definitely tells us about it. She has a high pitched squeal she lets out either when she is really happy or when something is bugging her. She is still in 6-9 month clothes. What a chunk! She moved up to size 3 diapers a couple weeks ago pretty much all in part to her sumo thighs. She also definitely has red hair right now and brownish/hazel eyes. She is a beautiful baby. We love to watch her every day as she explores new stuff and becomes interested in more and more.

USD Baby!
We were pretty stoked (does anyone use that word anymore?) that Mike got an acceptance letter to University of San Diego yesterday. Many of you don't know that Mike is going on to get yet another degree. I think this will be #4 but really who is keeping track anymore? He is going to get his Master's in Law aka the LLM. So we are off for yet another adventure but this will only be for one year so it will go by quick. We are super excited even though we are still waiting to hear back from 3 other schools, we are leaning towards San Diego at this point. He did also get accepted into Southern Illinois where the big draw is his cousin living there but the program at San Diego is more what he is looking for, plus its freaking warm there. AND its San Diego so not a lot of competition. Anyway, WAHOO and congrats Mike! So PrOuD of you!!

Holiday Spirit
Hudson and I have been in the holiday spirit lately. We have been singing Christmas songs every day for weeks. He loves Up on the Housetop and knows the words better than me! He is always asking for Frosty the Snowman but I usually have to fake at least a few lines. Those words are so hard to remember. We made these fun holly treats yesterday for FHE:
We also decorated the tree.
There are a few other Christmas projects underway but no pictures yet. Maybe soon though.
Mike is also taking his first of 2 finals for the semester right now. Good thing he got up early, we got a TON of snow last night. Guess the weather really is looking kind of frightful outside. It always cracks me up though to watch all the crazy Kansas snow drivers. They really don't know what to do with themselves.

Fun to Craft!
So I have been contemplating this for awhile but I finally took the plunge and have been working on it for the last few months when I had time (which wasn't often apparently). But I started a craft blog. I like posting my projects on here and I still plan on doing that but I will also do it on my craft blog too. Then I don't feel as weird putting my family blog out there in craft virtual land. So check it out and hopefully be inspired...or else give me ideas and inspire me!! Oh, and it is still a work in progress so anything could change at anytime, you just never know around here.
Here are a couple of teaser pictures:

Me 1 Tom 0
So our Tday was fantastic. I kid you not, I was actually giddy for it. I felt almost like I use to feel for Christmas when I was a kid. I don't know if it was the fact that I was venturing out to cook a real turkey (kind of took the easy way out the last few years) or that I was attempting to make stuffing from scratch and rolls from scratch. Or that Mike wasn't going to have to study over the weekend, a first since we have come to law school. Whatever it was, I was pretty excited for Turkey Day.
So meet Tom:
He was up first on the menu of the day. Sorry to sick you all out with this nasty picture but its purely for documentation reasons. Seriously for someone that doesn't like to touch any raw meat, I kind of had fun cleaning the ol' bird out.
Once he was in the oven, we were smooth sailing for a bit. I whipped up the rest of the stuff and worked on the rolls. (These are the Lion House roll recipe for anyone that has had those.) They have to raise 2 times so they are kind of tedious but no big deal for Tday.
They turned out great! I definitely want to make them again.
Skip forward to carving the turkey, Mike did a fab job. We had great friends come eat with us and bring some yummy pies. But of course, I forgot to whip out the ol' camera so the pictures of the festivities pretty much end here.
So a little late but I am thankful for him:
and her:
and of course, Mike but I didn't get a pic of him other than the turkey carving one. I am thankful for all of our friends and the rest of our family.
I am thankful for Mario Kart which supplies hours of entertainment for Mike and I while our kids are asleep.
I am grateful for this yummy goodness. It is a nice refreshing drink after some very long days.I may be addicted to these but I am very thankful for them. One package a night is usually enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.
No wonder I haven't lost all the weight yet. haha It's worth it though.
There are many other things I am thankful for but Hudson just woke up from his nap so I guess the sappiness ends here.
