First, thanks to everyone on their advice. I always like to hear what works for other people and take what will work for Huds from it.
Huds is still taking about 1 1/2 hour nap everyday which he goes down for really easily. And after I wrote this, we just kept with it and tried the book thing. He has been staying in bed and usually only gets out of his room 1 or 2 times. And the best part, he has been asleep by 8 pretty much every night and sleeping til 6:30-7am depending on when Hadley wakes up and then wakes him up. Hopefully he will keep up with the good sleeping. I need my quiet time!
Thanks again for everyone's advice. It was very helpful!!

Changes
Hudson has been going through some MAJOR changes lately. I mean, a big move including seeing your house get totally emptied. This was a bit much for the little man. He had about a day and a half where he would have accidents. Yep, pee right on the floor....right next to the toilet. It was not cool. Luckily, it only lasted a day and half.
Now, he has gone through another big change. Moving into a BIG BOY BED! He did fantastic at first. And still does great for nap times, which is actually fantastic. I was worried he would give up naps completely if we moved him. But they are great. He is still napping 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day. He is my great sleeper. (Well Hads is too but we aren't talking about her so nevermind.)
Here is my problem...nighttime.
My boy that once went to bed at 7pm sharp every night is now up til anywhere from 9 pm to 10:30pm. Sure he used to talk or sing a bit in his crib before and maybe was up til 7:30 or 7:45 some nights doing the wind down. But this is just driving me crazy. I get absolutely NO break at night now.
We are staying in my Dad's master room suite (they gave it up for us for the summer). So there is a loft right outside their room that is pretty high up. This makes me SO nervous when Huds sneaks out there and tries to look over at everyone. I keep hoping he doesn't lean over too far. Oh, and I have a sound machine that cuts out sound so that isn't the issue.
I just cannot seem to get him to lay down and stay down. He will be sitting up in bed for quite awhile and he also gets out of bed sometimes too. He thinks it's a game. He always laughs and tells me he is teasing me when he gets out. I have looked all over the internet and haven't found much help other than to keep putting him back in bed. We do this but even when he is in bed, he isn't necessarily laying down. He also just stays in the room quite a bit so I don't even know he is out of bed for sure.
So I put this out there....what did you do to get your kiddo to stay in bed during this transition?
Do you have any special tips or things I can try? I will do almost anything. I know I am not the only one to deal with this so please let me know what worked for you!!

Car Show
My sweet little man and his Daddy. Love that he wants to be like him so he wears his Dad's hat around.
In the midst of all of the moving, the school by our house was having a car show. They have done one every year but unfortunately, we have never been able to go until this year.
But it was well worth it. I am a HUGE fan of old cars. Really, I just love pimped out cars...old or new.
This sweet truck with the flames made my heart go pitter patter. So sweet!
Lovin' these old cars. Man, I would love to drive one of those babies!
This ol' green ride was great. And these whitewall tires reminded us of Lightning McQueen. haha
Love a sparkly, shiny engine. I don't know much about them, but I know they sure look impressive!
I loved how the flames of this one were actually open to the engine. Never seen that before.
Hudson was loving posing in front of all of them. He had a great time. Hadley was enjoying herself too but not as much posing in front of them as just being around them.
Oh, and check out that wood paneling. Fun times. Finally have something to update on the blog besides moving and packing. haha

What's with the snow?
I just don't know what the deal is with the weather lately. It snowed in Idaho tonight. As in, full on flakes. Why does it do that in May?? I know everyone in the midwest is not lovin' the humidity but I think I would take that any day over the snow in the wrong season. I must be in the wrong area since I am not a fan of snow. Hopefully we can flash forward to spring and then summer so we can have some sunshine soon.

Life Update
Life has been seriously hectic lately. The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of 2am painting sessions, cleaning frantically, running errands and tying up loose ends. We are now officially out of our place in KS. I did actually get a little emotional as I set the keys on the counter and locked the door for the last time. This place, although 70's retro, was our home. It was the longest we have lived anywhere since we have been married. It is where most of our memories of Hudson and Hadley are. It was a little hard to say goodbye. And even though I know we will live in nicer places and hopefully bigger ones too...we will always remember this place as a step along our incredible journey.
We also said goodbye to some dear, dear friends. It was in fact a lot harder than I thought it would be. Yes, I cried. And although things may not be the same, I know we will keep in touch and I am SO grateful for that.
Mike also graduated. I cannot even begin to explain the pride in my heart for him on that day. I was so excited for him! Pictures and more bragging to come.
We drove across 1400-ish miles and are now home. Or at least where home will be til the end of July. It feels good.
Hudson is sleeping in a big boy bed and so far (fingers crossed here), it has gone pretty dang smoothly.
Now, Mike is bar prepping it and I am building us a new computer. Our current one is on the fritz! Other than that, not much is happening....hope you can sense my sarcasm there.

Last Day
Mike's official last day of Law School was on April 28th. His last final was on May 1st. I cannot believe we are finally done. These were taken on the last day of school...I figured since I took one of him on the first day. I had to take one on the last day too.
Here is back in August of 2007.
Wow, Hudson sure has changed!
I cannot believe we are going to be closing this chapter of our lives. Well, not the school chapter. Just the Kansas one. Mike is going to be taking the Idaho Bar this summer and then it is off for another year of school. Then we will be done....I think.
