Word Up!

We thought Hudson just looked adorable in his turtle outfit! His hat just looked so cute turned to the side so we couldn't resist! He actually didn't seem to mind having his hat on either. He is going to be just like his dad and live in baseball hats! Can't believe how big he is getting! By the way, his hair is growing in more and more! I can't wait til its a little longer. It is so cute!

Yummy!

Hudson is still doing great with eating cereal but he has a tendency to drool a bunch of it out! We thought this picture showed how messy he can get. Luckily though, he has figured out not to put his hands in his mouth every time he gets food! If we are in a hurry though, he seems to want to spit out half of his food and just take his time eating it!! Wonder if he somehow senses my urgency and is just trying to tease me?!

Give me back my bib!

Hudson and his new buddy, Jordan, are just chilling on the floor. Jordan borrowed one of Hudson's bibs and we thought it was pretty funny that Hudson kept grabbing at it! They are just the cutest pair!

Squealing!

I think I have mentioned before that Hudson has started screaming/squealing like a girl. It is super loud when he does it too! It sounds like he is being tortured but he is actually usually doing it when he is having a good time! So I keep trying to get it on video and he keeps seeing the camera and stops so this video is the best I could do!

Silliness!

Hudson kept laughing while I was feeding him! I think he thought the whole thing was kind of funny or something! This video gets him smiling a bit but didn't catch him laughing like he was. It was so cute!

First Cereal

I was going to wait awhile before I started him on cereal but he stopped sleeping through the night and its seemed like it was due to being "starving" so I decided I would just get him going on. He had all the signs that he was ready anyway. It was so funny to try and get him to eat it. Its like he knew what he was supposed to do but couldn't keep his hands out of his mouth! He kept wanting to suck on them every time after I would feed him! He ended up having cereal all over both arms and his face! But he gobbled all of it and kind of acted like he could eat more but I figured that was enough for his first go around with it!

Of course I have a video of it and pictures...more for the grandparents than anyone else because I am sure its not that exciting to most people!

I want some food! Where is the food?

Yes! Finally!

Dad, I hate the cleaning up part!

Way to represent!

Hudson was sporting his Braves outfit today and in honor of Mike's favorite team, I figured we needed to post some pictures. I can't believe how long his eyelashes are getting. They are so beautiful! I wish mine curled up like his did!

I don't know why but whenever he sees the camera, he just stops whatever he is doing and stares at it. So I kept taking pictures of him trying to catch his smile but it wasn't working! I love the one where he has the deer in the headlights look!

Twisted

I heard Hudson squealing from his crib so I went to get him up from his nap and this is what I found:

He started doing this the last week or so where he will get on his side and then twist his body all around to look at things. It would be much easier to go back to his back or go over on his tummy but I guess its too much trouble so he just stays on his side upset and squealing trying to see whatever it is that he is looking at. The pictures just don't really do it justice! Its funny. Of course, being the mean mom I am, I left him there to cry and carry on and ran downstairs to get the camera! I just couldn't fight off the urge to capture that moment! He sure is a fun little thing. He seems to squeal and scream more now though and let me tell you, he sounds like a little girl! Its so funny! I will have to get it on video so you can experience it like everyone else within any close range distance gets to! Isn't that just the cutest round head you have seen? Poor kid has a noggin on him!

Tuckered Out!

This weekend was nice and relaxing! Mike studied most of the day Saturday but we were able to go out to eat with some friends. Right as we were heading out, it started pouring. So we ended up being DRENCHED during all of dinner. I am not talking a little wet either. I looked like a drowned rat! Too bad I didn't get a picture, huh?!

Today is the first week of all of Mike's classes. I am excited for him. I talked to him and he seems to be enjoying it more already! He will have a lot more time to actually study! Hudson and I have been keeping busy today with a ton of laundry. Its like I just did it and yet it was this huge heaping pile again!

Must have worn Hudson right out because this is how I found him:

We survived!

We all survived the first week of law school! YAY!! We miss being able to hang out with each other everyday but we knew that was going to be short lived! Mike is enjoying school and has already taken a quiz. He feels pretty good about it in spite of the fact that his computer somewhat crashed during it! He is studying ALL the time but we are all making sacrifices and know it will be well worth the effort. Hudson really has missed him. It was amazing how much Hudson lit up when he saw Mike yesterday. I think it made Mike feel really good because he is worried that Hudson will forget him! We are grateful Mike can go to law school and hope the adventure is all that we hoped for and more! Yay, for getting through the first week!

Hudson is not rolling over from his back to his tummy yet but he will go on his side and then freak out because he isn't sure which way he wants to go. He just lays there and does a combo of grunting and whining. Its pretty comical really!

4 months old!

Hudson is officially four months old today! Wow, time flies when you are having fun! He is such a sweet boy and we are so glad he is in our family. We couldn't imagine a better baby! He is definitely a hoot and keeps us on our toes all the time! He loves to laugh and squeal but most of all he is our grunter! We hope he loves all sports but especially baseball. I love to cuddle him and rock him to sleep. You can't do that forever so I try to take advantage of it while I can. I love his jibber jabber even though we don't quite speak the same language yet, I try! His favorite book seems to be a Dr Seuss's Red Fish, Blue Fish. He loves his leap frog caterpillar that sings and tells him about numbers and colors. He also loves to play peekaboo and to laugh with you!

Wow, here he is at 1 month compared to 4...little guy sure has grown into his head! Hehee I just love his cute smile!

News around here...

Mike is enjoying law school but that is about all he is enjoying right now! The first day he was gone from 7am til about midnight. I was surprisingly not too lonely but figured too many of those days would make me go crazy. So yesterday, I hung out with another law "widow" (as people call themselves!) and her little boy. It was great to have someone to talk to and to just not be all alone! Luckily, the 2nd day was only til about 8pm. This first week is supposed to be harder because they have more seminars and speakers and required lunches that they have to attend so after this week its supposed to be easier in a sense! It will be nice when Mike can focus on his classes and homework and not have to worry about so much extra stuff!

Other big news, we sold our house! It is a little bittersweet for me because I love that house and its our first one but its such a relief to know its sold. We sold it to a couple in Boise who are buying it for an investment. We feel blessed that it sold considering the SLOW market in Boise but its kind of funny that we ended up getting 2 offers on the same day for it. Unfortunately, we had already accepted this offer and couldn't get out of it so we had to turn down the 2nd one. Can't complain too much though because it will be one less worry for me!

First Day!

Today was Mike's first day of law school. Pretty exciting! I don't think either of us slept very much last night. The anticipation of what it would be like was killing me!! I am so proud of him though and excited to hear all about everything he is studying. I know he is going to do well and he will be so freaking smart when he gets done!! (Not that he isn't already but he will be close to genius level!! :) )

So of course I made him pose a few "First Day of School" shots! Hudson wanted to get in a few too! We are excited for what lies ahead of us in the next 3 years during school and of course what will happen afterward! He is looking at health care or real estate law right now but we will see if that stays the same or if he gets interested in something else between now and the end of school! So everyone mark your calendars...graduation is May 15, 2010!! Ha ha Just figured everyone needed a heads up!

Mullets

Well we cut Hudson's hair today because it was starting to resemble a mullet too much! Here are the before pictures:

And After:

He did such a great job while Mike held him. I think he looks so cute with a little buzz haircut...looks just like his daddy!!

Shots

Hudson had his 4 month shots today...I realize its a couple days early but Mike is starting school on Monday and I would really hate to see him get shots alone! Hudson did a really good job even though the people giving them seemed a little incompetent! They almost didn't give him one he was supposed to have until I mentioned it and then they put my birthday down for his and that he was a female. Hopefully those are the only problems we will have from that...Hudson seems to be doing great though...just sleepy now.

Its amazing how quickly they grow! It makes you realize you really have to try and enjoy every stage or else before you know it, it will be over!

Strobe lights

Pretty crazy at night here lately. Its so freaking hot and then around 9ish at night or so the sky starts looking like it has strobe lights in it because there is so much lightning! According to Mike, the thunder is pretty weak because you can't hear it that well! I wanted to take a picture of it last night but I was tired and didn't have the right angle!

I forgot to post that I was put in as the 1st counselor in YW a few weeks ago. I was really excited! I love working with YW and the girls in our ward are awesome! I really am enjoying it. We went to the Ronald McDonald House last night and made a meal for them. That was a good time...one of the girls made cookies and I guess they didn't get all the flour in it so when I opened the oven to check on them, they were a big pan of cookie dough that was getting browned. We took them out and it just tasted like warmed up cookie dough! Fantastic!! Luckily we still had enough dough for a normal batch or two of cookies!

Exersaucer time!

Hudson is now officially big enough for this exersaucer. So we got it out yesterday to see what he thought of it. He actually seemed to really like it. I don't think he quite knows how to work everything yet but I am sure he will get a hang of it. Mostly right now, he just likes to grab things.

This other picture was just one I took when he was feeling contemplative...or at least that is how it looks!
Hudson is really getting into kicking his legs more and more. The other day in the bath, he was kicking them so hard, he looked like he was part of the cast of Riverdance! It is so fun to see him change and explore things. I loved him when he was a newborn but as he gets older, it seems to get easier and more fun everyday!

My feet!!

Hudson found his feet just before we left on vacation. It was so funny! He loves to just hold onto them now! I finally was able to get some pictures of it yesterday. He grunts the whole time he gets a hold of one and then keeps reaching for the other but sometimes his chubby belly gets in the way and he can't quite hold onto it!

Carthage Jail

We were able to go to Carthage on my birthday which was a really neat experience. The Sister that gave us a tour did an excellent job and you could really feel the spirit that was there. We were so glad we were able to visit.

I always enjoy stories of the Saints. I just can't imagine the courage and faith it must have taken them to be able to go through everything they went through. It is always a testimony builder to me to see and hear of their experiences and to feel more of what they went through.

Nauvoo

We went to Nauvoo with Mike's parents, Grandma and Aunt Lynette. It was so much fun! Hudson was a real trooper. I couldn't believe how great he did!

It was so fun seeing the Nauvoo Pageant. I would love to do that one day but Mike isn't so interested in singing and dancing in front of people!! These are a few pictures from the pageant which was great! Then there are a few pictures of the Nauvoo temple.

We also went and saw the variety show put on by the missionaries called Sunset By the Mississippi. It was so funny! I can't believe how talented they all are!

We rode on an oxen ride with two huge oxen named Gabe and Gary. It was pretty cool to see how big they were and what it would have felt like to ride in a wagon pulled by oxen.

We went and saw the Monument to Women behind the Nauvoo Visitor's Center. It is awesome. There are some amazing statues back there. I guess women in the church back in the 70's donated money for those monuments to be built. We took a picture by the one labeled eternal courtship.

My hands

Hudson loves to suck on his fingers, his fist, any part of his hand really. He isn't too picky!

Decor and More

So I am so excited to have these curtains here! My mom and I made 2 of these curtains when we bought our house in Boise so I was so excited to have her ship them to me! They are hung up and we bought some for Hudson's room too. Of course, Hudson had to have a cameo in each of them too! It reminds me of those Where's Waldo books!!

I also wanted to put a picture of our new table on here. Not as fancy as our last one, but its still nice and it will be great to have a table again to eat at!

Speaking of eating, I have decided to become my own food network star! Okay, not really but I have become obsessed with watching it so I have decided to try out some of the recipes that look easy and tasty! So this picture makes it look kind of weird or nasty, but its really good! Its an artichoke pesto torta!
