Christmas Time

Yeah, so this is a bit late but I have to get it blogged for our family blog book!
We had a great Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa L. We woke up around 7 and headed down to the presents! The kids were super excited to see what Santa had brought for them. They had been talking about it for days before. Even Hadley was really into it this year.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year consisted of us making treats at home during the day and going to family's house for dinner that night. It has been since 2007 that we have been with family for Christmas so this was quite the treat! Then we came home after a ton of great food and treats to open up one gift. The kiddos are each allowed to open a gift on Christmas Eve but it is always the jammies I made them.
They were just so excited to open a present!
Here is Maycee in her cute jammies that Grammy got her.
Huds loved his sports jammies
Hads in her cute fairy jammies.

Bounce

Mike took a few days off of work and we headed to Bounce. It is FULL of large bounce areas.
The kids had a blast sliding down.
and jumping around.
Mike and I had some fun there too.
Mike splurged and got them these cool drink cups too. (I think he is the nicer parent!) We had a blast and can't wait to go again.

Santa Time

My mom's ward had a Christmas breakfast party. Hands down THE BEST food I have ever had at a ward function. It was breakfast burritos and they were fab. I have been dreaming about them on and off ever since!

They had these cool trees at the tables with glue sticks for the kiddos to decorate with cute punched out christmas paper bulbs.Too bad Hads thought the glue was lip gloss.
Maycee was asleep so she didn't get to visit with Santa but Huds had fun telling him he wanted a robot.
Hadley enjoyed giving him hugs and twirling his beard. She told him she wanted a doll.

Night Out

Mike's work was having their annual Christmas party this year at a SUPER fancy private club. We were required to wear a cocktail dress and men had to wear jackets and slacks. I was freaking out a bit about being able to find a dress that I could wear: post baby and modest.
I found this one at Ross for $18!!! I was so excited! I did not do a good job taking pictures but I cut off the bottom so it was knee length and used the excess fabric to make sleeves. Wah-lah! I did my hair in a side chignon...thanks to pinterest. My grandma and aunt Jody supplied me with jewelry. It was a blast. And other than the anchovies on our Caesar salad, the food was fantastic! This is one of the first times we have ever "had" to dress up since we have been married. I love getting dressed up!

Catching Up

004008013

These are some fun pics of Maycee that I was told by Hudson I had to take. Every time they lay on the floor by her they want me to take more pictures.

Here is our sweet chunker at 2 months when she got her shots. Poor girl!

That pretty much sums up Miss Hadley. She is inseparable from that Boise State shirt and wears it to bed and during the day. Love that she is sucking on that bottle. No worries…we no longer have that one.

Hadley's Horrors

My Hadley Hoo is a sweet little girl that is full of hugs and kisses for everyone. She always wants to make sure that if she gets something Hudson will too. She is a big helper with Maycee and loves to help with with anything around the house. But she also has this crazy side to her. The kind that can make the biggest messes in about 2.2 seconds. She has recently had a spell of crazy incidents. I just couldn't not record them. She has managed to dump out an entire bottle of raspberry body spray on her bed (upside is her pillow smells good!). She dumped out bar keeper's friend (an ajax like cleaner for stainless steel and other kitchen things) all over the floor. She broke a special candy dish of my mom's that shattered on the floor. She spilled a brand new bottle of sweet pea body wash all over the carpet. She (and huds) drew a HUGE crayon picture all over the wall in their room at my mom's house. She spilled foundation 2 separate times, face lotion 2 times, baby lotion all over the bathroom rug, toothpaste on the rug (this one was minimal), got my new mascara all over the sink and watered it down. Lathered herself into a white lotion mess with WAY too much lotion. Spilled baby soap all over the bathroom rug. This might be all but who knows there could be more too. Even through the anger of having to clean up yet another mess, I try to remind myself she is just trying to explore and it could be worse....could be poop smeared everywhere or something (which is something any of my kids have yet to do!)

Also, any thoughts I had in a previous life of wondering how people's kids do this kind of thing have flown out the window. It literally takes 2 seconds for her to create this kind of havoc. It really must be some sort of talent. Too bad she can't put that on her future resume. This girl can whip out a mess like it's nobody's business.

Blankets

Today I am grateful for blankets. The ones that keep us warm when it is frigid cold outside. The ones that wrap up a sleeping baby. The ones my kiddos use to make a fort where they play quietly for over an hour with NO fighting at all. Blankets are often overlooked as playing a big part in family memories but ours has a few that have been with us through the years that bring back so many fun memories.

Oh Blessed Day

Dress3

Dress5

Maycee was blessed the Sunday after Thanksgiving. She looked beautiful. I did not originally plan on making her her own dress but since everything is in storage and so was the blessing dress I made Hadley, I figured I might as well.Dress6Dress7

I loved the flowers on her dress and she had matching headband and shoes.

We took a few family shots before the blessing.005

Most of mine I was not about to post because I was still sporting that “extra baby weight double chin” going on. 2

But it was a great day and we had some family in town come as well as Mike’s sister from SLC and her husband came up to represent his fam. We were so grateful to everyone for coming and for the support everyone has given us. It is nice to be back by family and be able to see them all a little more often.
