Whirlwind Week

The week with my Mom flew by. I couldn't believe how fast it went. We had a great time creating chaos there. Hudson does a pretty good job of it. Hudson is in this new sticker phase and so whenever he does something like come to get his diaper changed without being asked over and over or whatever we give him a sticker. You can see that Grandma is a little more fun than I am. She would let Hudson pick out his own sticker and sometimes this is what his shirt would look like. We would find stickers everywhere! He put one on his upper chest one day and didn't take it off for like 3 days. It even survived bath time. He loves to stick them on the bottom of his feet and on his hair on his head.

My mom had the whole week off of work so we had a blast shopping, getting good deals, baking eclairs, playing games and a ton of other stuff. I even got to teach some of them how to make those wooden frames which was fun. My mom indulged my food cravings from Blimpie's, Panda Express, Baja Fresh, Mongolian BBQ, and Texas Roadhouse to name a few. I was in HEAVEN!! I have been wanting some of that food for the last month so it was nice to eat til my belly was FAT! Unfortunately, I think it might stay that way permanently now!! heheMy aunt flew in from SLC and a bunch of us were able to get together and go to lunch. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again. Hudson had a blast entertaining so many attentive girls too!

We were sad to say goodbye to my Mom and Ray but we are having a good time with my Dad too. We won't know what to do when life finally returns to normal!

One more trip

What would a trip to Boise be like without a stop off at Chuck E. Cheese's??! It is so bad that Hudson knows exactly who Chuck E. is when you see him on TV. He is like play at Chuck E.'s?? Oh well, it entertains him and he had a good time with his uncles and grandparents there. When we got there, Chuck E. was walking all around and Hudson wouldn't just walk right up to him at first. But he made me go with him as he followed him all around. Then he gave him a high five. He did not want Chuck E. to leave without doing it but I guess he had to get up the nerve to go up close. He was throwing baskets until the ball ended up on the floor and then he kicked it across the room. Just copying Mom and Uncle Brent and wanting to get in on the dance revolution. Yeah, I am seriously not coordinated enough to do that!! It was still fun and probably gave a good laugh to the people who were watching behind us.This is Hudson's new favorite ride. Too bad they don't have it in Topeka. It is a rocket ride where he controls it to go up or down, left or right. He was LOVING it. It was hilarious to watch him.

Playing, Playing Everywhere

Hudson had a blast playing with different toys at my mom's house. He kept sticking the containers on his head and running around. He thought it was pretty funny. He also loves to color. This was great because it kept him busy on the airplane ride for quite awhile. He loves to "trace" his hands and then he will trace your hands. It is pretty funny to watch him do it.He also had a blast playing with his buddy Tanner and then over at his friend Travis's house. He was in heaven with all of their toys and couldn't stop playing their little toy pianos. Most of their toys made noise which was so fun for him. I guess most of his toys don't make as much noise...must be for my own sanity!!
Yes, he likes to put bowls or anything else on his head. What a funny kid. He was loving going down that slide and crashing into things.

Music Man

Hudson has been a crazy music man this last week at my mom's. He would play the piano every morning, much to the chagrin of sleeping uncles. He also got into a jam session with my brother and my mom last Sunday. He was swaying back and forth and singing. He also loved to play the guitar with my brother.

Slacking

So I have been seriously slacking on this blog. This is not news to me or probably to any of you either! I am definitely going to start posting more and have quite a few pictures to post but the stuff I need is in the room Hudson is sleeping in. So the pictures will just have to wait.

We did make it to Boise without any problems. The first plane ride Hudson colored and played with toys and talked to everyone around us. The second one he slept for about an hour and then just looked out the window. He thought it was the greatest thing that we were flying in the air! He kept saying airplane, airplane.

We are having a good time with my mom and fam. Hudson is having a great time making messes, getting spoiled and creating all sorts of chaos here, which is just great! I will post some pictures soon because I know written posts are not nearly as cool as ones with pictures.

Sleepy time

So Hudson and I have been spoiled by his Dad putting him down for pretty much every nap and nighttime during the break (although Mike always does nighttime anyway.) So Hudson was having a bit of a hard time falling asleep today for his nap. He kept asking about his daddy so maybe that was part of it. I took away Fuzz but only because Hudson sucks on his ears so much he actually smells like something a child should definitely not have in their mouth and replaced him with Fuzz's Cuz, another well liked furry friend. Then I left him to fall asleep. Didn't really happen so I went back in there to tell him to close his eyes and go to sleep. It was hilarious. He did that thing with his eyes when you are shutting them but still trying to look through just the very bottom crack. He kept doing this over and over. I had to leave the room because the look on his face was cracking me up! Now I am crossing my fingers that he is actually asleep!

**Only after 2 or 3 more trips in there, one of which where he had gotten a hold of the wipes off his chest of drawers and pulled most of them out in his crib and the last where I finally rocked him to sleep did I finally succeed!!**

My little man has slept so good from when he was born. Please tell me this is not the start of fighting his naps. But I do think his left back molar is trying to cut in so I am hoping that is all the source of this trouble!!

Step Stool

What a great use for his tool box. He loves to move it around and stand on top of it.

Ball Collection

Randomly one day, Hudson started lining up a bunch of his balls on his couch at home. He was being so careful about how he placed them on there. Then I tried to take a picture of him and he covered up his face with his hands. What a funny little guy!

Almost 12 weeks...

We went to the Dr today for the first check-up. It was pretty fun getting poked and prodded. My favorite part was definitely hearing the heart tones. Mike asked Hudson if he heard it and after a few seconds Huds says all serious in his cute little voice, "Yesh." It was funny, even the nurses started laughing. It was great to finally hear them though, makes it all seem even more real.

Don't mess with Texas!

You should see the other guy!!

After our trip to MS and TN, we headed down to LA and TX. We had a great time in the warm weather again. We played on the swings, watched movies, played ping pong and BBQ'd. We had a really good time but decided to head back a little early because we really just wanted to sleep in our own beds!

Mississippi Highlights

These are a few more highlights from our Mississippi stay:
Hudson obsessed with watching Little Einsteins. He usually just sits there and smiles the whole time he watches it.My favorite feature was the jetted tub. Can't resist a warm bath after a long drive!Hudson's own gallon challenge....ok, not really but it looks like it anyway.Hudson loved playing with his Megabloks. Definitely a good purchase! And last but not least, Hudson's favorite place to play: the cupboard.

Singin' the Blues in Memphis

Memphis, TN was not far from Mississippi so we were able to go check it out a couple of times. (In between the pouring rain and the sunny 65 degree weather. We had no snow for Christmas like most of our family and friends, but I think this year I was glad to have the warmth instead!) We hit up Graceland and Elvis Presley Blvd. Home of the King. It was drizzling rain so the pictures are a little cloudy looking. Then we headed to downtown Memphis and checked out the Autozone Park. Then onto the famous Beale Street. It has been around forever and is a major jazz hot spot. It was so cool to see all the old buildings too. This is A. Schwab, founded in 1876. Crazy to think a store like that is still around. We wanted to eat some Southern BBQ food so we went to the Blues City Cafe. We got a little bit southern but mostly we just liked the environment and the funny signs.

A Mississippi Style Christmas

We had a great time in Mississippi for Christmas this year. We had lots of down time to watch football, play games, and entertain Hudson. It was awesome! We brought along our small tree to help the place feel a little more "Christmasy." We also had a our new stockings and tree skirt. So glad they were all done before we left!
This is our undisturbed Christmas scene. Always looks a little too peaceful. I like the wrapping paper everywhere and the toys out and about!Hudson got completely spoiled for Christmas. It was so fun to watch him run and see his presents he got from Santa. He went straight for his trains and the train track. It wasn't until at least 5 minutes later that he looked up and saw his Cars couch and more trains and said "WOAH!" It was pretty funny! He was loving playing with his toys and really didn't care much at first about opening more gifts. He just wanted to keep on playing with all the other toys. It was so fun watching him open the gifts and be excited about what was inside.
