Still Progressing

So we went to the Dr again today. Things are still going well and moving along, I would say slowly but I think I am further now than I was after a few hours of contractions with Hudson. Can't complain too much about that. So I am hoping that once things really pick up, I will just have a quick (and easy!) labor. One can always hope right??! I am at a 2 and still 75% and that is about as far as we got because then the Dr got paged for a birth. He was pretty much running out the door so I am guessing it must have been happening right then! He said he would be doing the same if it was me. But I already got all the info I needed so I didn't really care. I am just anxious to have more energy and not have my lower back hurt. I am guessing that the more energy thing might be a little while but you never know. I have so much help available here from friends and family that I know we will be well taken care of!

Splashes, Splashes

Hudson has been taking swimming lessons this last week and this week. He absolutely LOVES it! He is SO good at "swimming" on his belly. He loves to stretch his arms forward and grab rings or other water toys. He also likes to kick his legs! His swimming teacher, Lyndsay, has some fun songs for him to swim to in the water. They also used these barbell things to have him hold onto in his arms and swim around on his own a bit. He did such a good job.He was not a huge fan of back floating at the start but he is really starting to get the hang of it. He will watch for towers or birds in the sky and then go on his back. It doesn't even scare him to put his face into the water. He has been practicing blowing bubbles which he drank a bunch of pool water doing at first, but now he seems to be getting pretty good at that too! He always loves the lessons and it is nice because it knocks him out right in time for bed!

Zoo

Hudson and I went to the zoo with my aunt and cousin (who happens to be about 9 months younger than Hudson). It was a lot of fun. They just finished this new African exhibit that is really cool. Hudson had a blast seeing all of the animals and climbing on the tigers with Tanner. Then we all had a picnic with my mom for lunch. Hudson kept her busy running all around the park. So glad she was there because I cannot keep up with him anymore! What a cheesy smile! He is such a flirt. I cannot believe it!

Reunion at Last

My college roommates were seriously THE best roommates! We always had a blast and were always doing crazy things. We have a whole video of crazy nonsense we used to do together. It is always hilarious to watch but totally embarrassing too. I do some pretty random things on it. But we have not all been able to get together for our yearly reunions for like 5 or 6 years until this summer. It was SO great to see all of them. We went and got pampered with a pedicure, which was great since its a little hard to paint my own toes right now.Yep, these are my toes. Sorry but I couldn't help not putting them on here. I love having those cute flowers on my toes. I really need to get back into painting my own, or else getting pedicures. They are so nice!!We went to eat at an old favorite place, Cafe Rio. I can never get enough! It was so great to just chill and talk forever. They are such awesome girls and I cannot imagine my life without them. (Not sure why us pregnant girls are both up front in this picture but oh well. We can show off our bellies I guess.)

6 years headed into Eternity

The last 6 years have pretty much flown by. We have gone through my college graduation, Mike's college graduation, Mike getting a Master's, and Mike working on his Law Degree (graduating next May...wahoo!!).We have built a house and sold it and moved way too many times to count. We have had Hudson join our family and await the arrival of our sweet baby girl. There are so many things I have learned about myself, about Mike and about both of us in the last 6 years.

While I am sure there are many more things, here are 6 things I love about Mike that I didn't know when we were married:

1. He is always willing to return something for me at a store. I don't know how he does it but he has a way with people and can always get things returned without a hassle.2. He is always up for my crazy coupon adventures and is actually proud to say how much money I save us. He has bought things numerous times when I need another transaction done.3. He loves having his back scratched. I am not always good at doing this for him but he loves it when you do.4. He always gets me drinks or snacks. Might not sound like a big deal but he is always offering to get me things so I don't have to get up and do it myself. On a daily basis, I recognize this as a huge sacrifice!5. He is so good with kids. He loves being around them and he is always up for wrestling or playing with them. He loves to tease our nieces and nephews and is always up to go places with them and Hudson.

6. He loves to travel just as much as I do. One state at time, one trip at a time, we hope to see the world. I am so grateful that he loves to do this as much as I do. We are always thinking of new places to go and things to see.

We have a great time together and he is really my best friend. I can tell him anything and even though I am sure he gets annoyed with me running craft or sewing ideas past him, he still listens and tries to help out. He has been to the fabric store with me so many times to help me pick something out when I need someone's opinion.

He and I could spend all day long together everyday and still not get sick of each other. There is always something new happening. I seriously cannot imagine my life without him. Glad to know we have an eternity to keep hanging out together. I love you Mike! Happy Anniversary!

Beauty all around

After our week in Park City, we headed down to SLC for some fun with family and friends. I was able to go eat lunch with my aunt and cousin's wife. It was so much fun! Her two girls are so stinking cute! Plus she let me take a tour of her house (a favorite past time of mine!). She has the most beautiful house! I love it and it gave me some fun ideas for our future house...not sure when that will be but I can always dream!

Then we met up with Mike's sister and our niece and nephew and went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. It was so nice. The temple is beautiful and I absolutely love the artwork inside. There are such bright vivid colors used. I love art like that.
We were able to get some shots out front of the temple. Such a beautiful building! Hudson kept pointing to Jesus's picture in the temple and telling everyone around us who it was. Pretty funny. His volume level is not always considered "reverent." But he wasn't alone so it was no big deal.
I love this picture because it is the view from the temple. The Salt Lake Valley looks gorgeous and the mountains....I cannot get enough of them. Sure do miss them in Kansas!

Less than 30

I was a little shocked when I looked at the baby countdown today and realized I finally was under the 30 day mark! WAHOO! I am so excited! I went to the Dr today too. I guess all the contractions I have been having on and off the last week or so are paying off. I am 75% and 1.5 so here is to hoping she will come on time or maybe even early. Don't want to get my hopes up though in case she decides to show up late like Hudson did. The Dr did tell me his schedule for the week though so he must be thinking it is a big possibility. I will keep you posted but not planning on it quite yet. I did finish up some wash and started thinking about packing a bag just in case. Definitely do not want to feel unprepared!

Best part of the rain

I think the best part of the rain, besides the smell, is of course, the beautiful rainbows that often follow. I have never seen one so magnificent as this one. We could see the entire thing, but I couldn't get it all on camera because we were too close. But it was so amazing to see. It was actually a double rainbow with a third rainbow above it. The way it is darker above the rainbows than below was so beautiful to see too. These pictures do not do it justice. It was definitely a once in a lifetime thing to see. Or at least so far for me!

Shopping in PC

We had a blast in Park City. We didn't want to leave but I guess all good things come to an end and real life starts up again. Luckily, Mike was able to spend most of the week with us even though he did have to make a quick jaunt back to Idaho for work for a couple days. Thanks to everyone for coming and making it a great week! We checked out the shops in downtown Park City. It was so great there. They had so many cute little places too. We got some great fudge at a candy shop too. I love places like that to shop around in. They always have the most interesting things and the best candy!
This is a kind of poor humor but they had a lot of random things like that in this store. Along with shirts saying SL,UT for Salt Lake, Utah. Not so sure about any of those things.
We wanted to ride the ski lifts but unfortunately, they opened the day we had to leave. Maybe next year...they really do look kind of exciting! Plus, I bet it is beautiful up there on the mountain. We were also able to check out the outlets. They have so many great stores there. Huds was playing on the toys while I shopped around. He is such a character. He wouldn't go down one of the slides because he told Mike it was too dirty. Guess he doesn't like the bark on it. What a funny kid!

Some of our friends from the "castle"

Hudson was super excited and surprised when a few of our Kansas friends (or castle friends as he sometimes calls them) came to Park City to go swimming. He had an absolute blast with them. Mike was a real sport and played with the kids in the pool. He ended up getting recruited by some kids we didn't even know too in a splashing contest. What a guy! It was so fun to see all of them and catch up! Thanks again for coming up!!

Park City - Hudson Edition

We have been off enjoying ourselves in Park City this week. Hudson is living it up. He is reading lots of books.Checking out the hot tub and saying, "its burning me." Making forts and trying to walk across the roof of them.Swimming in the pool and getting really good at kicking his legs in the water. Stomping in all of the rain puddles.Keeping everyone company. including anyone who is walking beneath the balcony.Constantly keeping the place clean.Being obsessed with "Daddy Spiderman" holding his "babies" and doing the crochet. I think he may just be the next Ian Johnson if he keeps up his fascination with crochet hooks. Making funny faces that only Hudson can.Sporting a lovely baby girl crocheted hat featuring a scalloped edge. Looks fabulous darling!
