The Move

We loaded up the ABF trailer and our house is officially empty and almost completely clean. It was so bizarre to see it that way. I was sad to see that chapter close. I am excited to move though and must say that this move has already been our best by far! Hudson was so great while we packed everything up in the truck today too. He just slept, ate and entertained himself for the most part. Here's how the moving thing worked: We rented space in an ABF truck. We pack our stuff up and then put in a retaining wall and then they pack their stuff in the rest of it and drive it to Topeka for us. It was actually less than renting a U-Haul and will be way less hassle!

We are going to stay with our friends Mark and Rebekah in Logan on Tuesday night and then will drive to North Platte, NE on Wednesday and all the rest of the way to Topeka on Thursday when we check into our place that afternoon. It still seems surreal to me but I am up for the adventure. I hope it turns out to be a good one...well it will be because everything is what you make of it right??

I meant to take pictures today of us loading the truck, but lets face it, I didn't shower beforehand since it was 5:30 in the morning when we got up to head over there and we all looked the part of moving day so I spared us all the grief! But maybe I will get a few of us when we go to clean out the fridge...the last thing we have to do before we are officially "moved" out and cleaned! Next post I probably do will be from Topeka. Ready or not, here we come!

Two Months

Hudson is officially past his two month mark which was on June 16th same day as my Dad's 56th birthday! Wow, how cool! I read somewhere once that you should take a picture of them with some object on each of their month birthdays for a year so you can really see how much they have grown and changed. So it just wouldn't be right if we didn't use something to do with baseball to commemorate each month!

Here is his two month picture!

What a stud!!

Happy Firsts...

Mike had his first official Father's Day. It was pretty cool. He got to stand up in sacrament meeting and the bishop compared who had been a father the shortest, longest, to the most kids...apparently the bishop decided with 500 "kids" in the ward that he had the most! Mike was beat out as the newest father by another guy whose wife had the baby 2 weeks...oh well! It was great! We had to get a few pictures of Mike's First Father's Day and my Dad's First Grand "Father"s Day!

I guess Hudson wasn't feeling as photogenic as they were!

We had a good Father's Day though. We went to my Dad's and had dinner and hung out. Not too much of that time left though...As of today we only have 6 days left until we move to Topeka!

Ouch!

Hudson got his 2 month shots Monday. Little guy was such a trooper. The Dr was amazed at how much he moves his legs and arms around and he was just chatting up a storm to the Dr. He said Hudson was one of his best patients! Ha ha, he probably tells everyone that!

Poor little guy got poked 4 times and had one oral "shot". He really did do great and wasn't even really that fussy afterwards. I was glad Mike could go with me to the Dr's, its sad seeing them get poked. Unfortunately, he had to go back to work though so the ride home wasn't as good. He just wanted to be cuddled. I think his one leg was pretty sore though because it now is a red mark that feels like it has a knot in there!

Growing up

We just can't believe how much Hudson is growing. The other night I got out one of his "huge" sleepers that is actually newborn size and he fit perfectly in it! I was sad! I was like he is growing up so fast he won't need me anymore! Mike just started laughing at my dramatics! I guess it was a little much but I just can't believe how fast the last two months have gone by, I can only imagine how fast the rest will go!

He just loves his rainforest animals on his swing...and I just thought he looked like such a big boy in this picture! I love his facial expressions when he is watching something so intently!

Apparently like father, like son! He and Mike both sleep with their arms up by their heads and with their ankles crossed! It is hilarious, so I had to get out of bed early one morning and capture this. Hudson doesn't usually get to sleep with us, but when his tummy hurts, he seems to just love that comfort of being close to us and we love it because he actually goes back to sleep!!

Blessing Day 6.3.2007

Hudson had a ton of family and friends that came to his blessing to show their support. He was so cute in his outfit. It was pretty much utter chaos though with so many people here. We loved it! The blessing went great and he had his dad give him the blessing with Grandpa Swain, Great Grandpa Swain, Grandpa McClure, Grandpa Lyon, Ty Benham, Lee McClure and Brent Swain in there too! It was a great day for us! Then everyone came over for cake and that raspberry sherbet drink. It was a full house but we were glad to have everyone and so thankful for those that drove from out of town to be here with us. It meant so much! Just thought you might want to see a few pictures of the little guy!

Hooded towel

I have been using Hudson's hooded towels for his bath now that his head is big enough for them! He was being extra cute today so I just had to take some pictures. When I first started using it, he would just scream and scream. I don't think he liked having it on his head but I think he realizes now that it keeps his noggin warm so he kinda secretly likes it!

The other day Mike was reading Hudson his Little Duck book and Hudson couldn't keep his eyes off of it! I think he really likes that you can move the duck around. He was all smiles when I read it to him yesterday!

We are really looking forward to Hudson's blessing this weekend and the family and friends that are coming to support us. We really appreciate the sacrifice that everyone is making! It really means a lot to us! We are excited to see everyone since it may be awhile until we see everyone again!
