Unknown Diagnosis

Sweet little Miss Hadley has been tortured the last month. She was potty trained. (Remember how I told you how she was starting to insist on it. She just kept at it.) Yep, almost completely. We were going out in underwear, she was dry after naps, dry after the night. Until the big upset happened. She started getting this nasty upset stomach. The Dr refers to it as Toddler Diarrhea. So I will call it TD but I don't really believe that diagnosis. Oh, what? You say you have never heard of that. Yeah, me either until the Doc mentioned it. Back to sweet Hads. She went through a week of just being miserable...could have been cutting her canine teeth at the same time but she was just not herself. Then she had 104 temp for 3-4 days straight. Next, came the TD and it has stuck with us for the last month. Seriously? SICK. Poor thing. Poor us. It is all around nasty.

So needless to say this TD put a HUGE wrench in our underwear wearing princess. She started associating the toilet with the pain on her bum and that was about it. Since there is still TD, I refuse to not use diapers so we are back to square one with an added bonus of TD.

Anyone else ever heard of this? I sort of thought it was one of those diagnosis' you get when they have no other options...which might be true because after having to collect stool samples and take those in to be checked out, they couldn't find anything else. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful it is not anything more serious but how long is this girl going to be dealing with this? She screams bloody murder when you change her and her bum has a rash which is like every 2-3 days. I can usually get rid of it and then it just comes back.

All in all, this is a vent. I need a new pediatrician. Thank goodness I will be getting a new one in a couple months anyway since we are moving. Since I am not one of those moms that goes to the dr on a regular basis, it has been uber annoying to be there almost once a week trying to figure out what is wrong even though they don't seem to be trying too hard. "Give her yogurt so she has good bacteria." Been there done that.

Maybe she is lactose intolerant? I guess I am going to start doing a food journal for her.

Along with that fun, she has been able to open doors starting a couple weeks ago. That adds a whole new dimension of fun. I have to lock every room upstairs so she and her partner in crime (Hudson) don't make huge messes and play in the bathroom sink. Sometimes it does make me smile though, just to know they are getting along and playing well together, even if it is with water all over the place.

Gymnastics

Huds is still in gymnastics this semester and loves his teacher Miss Dorothy. He always rants and raves about how much fun he has after it is over. It is cool to watch him do different things on the bars, balance beam and the floor.

Bounce House

Hudson went to a fun birthday party a couple weeks ago with Mike. They had a blast! They had the whole place to themselves with the rest of the party goers. Mike and Huds went down slides and climbed all over the place. When the fun was all done, they had pizza and goodies. Huds also loved the party bags they got. He was in heaven when they got home checkin' out all of his loot.

Boomin' trees

At the beginning of March, I was just in awe of all the trees around here. They were all sprouting the most gorgeous flowers. Hudson and I would talk about the trees every time we went outside. When we were driving he would shout, Hey look mom! There is another "boomin" tree.

Half Pint Classes

Huds has been taking some sports classes once every couple weeks. He absolutely loves them. The first week they played soccer. It was so funny to watch him learn to play and not to use his hands to touch the ball. He is a fan of kicking the ball though and scoring goals. He could have practiced all day if I had let him. Ever since then, he has been asking for his own soccer ball. At the end, they had snacks and got trophies. Hudson had a fun time and was talking non-stop to one of the teachers. She was just lovin' his, "I'll take this trophy home and share it with my baby sister." Ha! Usually he asserts his dominance over which toys are allowed to be touched. So funny!

Spring Break

Spring Break was a couple weeks ago for us down in the south. It was....let's just say, not our fave spring break plans. We didn't go anywhere which is a first for us in the last 4 years. But Mike did get his 30 page paper almost all the way done. That was a HUGE accomplishment in itself.

The kids and I just had lazy days with no gymnastics, yoga, sports classes, or preschool to go to. It was kind of fun. We also visited an amazing kids museum that I will post pics of soon. I wish we had gone there sooner. We loved that place!

Now we are starting the countdown for Mike being done with classes for the very last time!!! April 26th can't come soon enough. Then 2 finals and walking for graduation. WOW!!! I can't believe we are almost done.

Funny Kids

Kids are so funny. They always say funny things and do random odd things that are hilarious. Case in point:

001

Hudson is always changing clothes during his “quiet” time. He usually changes into pj’s/comfy clothes. Can’t say I blame him. I usually do that too if I know I am not going anywhere. But this day he decided to put on 3 pairs of pants!! I didn’t even realize it either until he pulled them down to show me. You definitely never know what to expect from this little man.

Here is another example:

006

Hadley has become obsessed with this box. She will just go sit in it and play. Not sure it is even fun but she seems to enjoy herself. Huds pushed her around in it the other day. I love to see them play nicely together. Most of the time, no one can get her to giggle quite like Hudson can.

"Hearty" Party

Don’t you hate when you upload pics from the ol’ camera and realize you forgot to blog about something a few weeks ago? Whoops. Oh well. I couldn’t not post all of these cute kiddos faces!!

V Day started off with a few fun surprises for the kiddos:

Huds V Day Had V Day

Then we were off for a Par-tay!! Here is Hudson and his friends decorating their valentine’s boxes.

Tutus

005

We do a babysitting swap with some friends here. It is nice to always know we can go out each week (except when it is our turn to watch all the kiddos). Huds and Hadley love to go to “Pajama Parties” at other friends’ houses and we get nice date nights…something we have rarely had in our marriage. It is a nice break at the end of the week. So a few weeks ago, we had all the kiddos here. A few of the girls that are older than Hadley, saw her tutu amongst the dress up toys and begged to put it on.

003

I let them wear that and one of Hadley’s pettiskirts and they were in heaven the whole night! Hadley didn’t really seem to be paying much attention but the next day, she kept insisting she wear her tutu. She has since put it on at least a few times each week. It is kind of fun now that we are entering a more girly phase with her. I am used to cars, trains and tools with Hudson. I am really not even sure what little girls are into these days. Guess I better get educated!

006

Huds had me take his picture too. He had gymnastics earlier in the day and had asked them to put his stamp on his forehead. Leave it to him to go outside the norm. He was so proud of it!
