A few of Hadley too

I couldn't forget to post a few new pics of Hadley. I just LOVE this dress that my aunt got her. I can't believe how well she fits into it, since it is a 3 mo. She is our chunker! Looks so serious here. I love it!
Here is her fun smile! She looks like she is thinking, who is this dude harassing me??!

His Happy Face

This is the face he gives us now when we ask to see his happy face. I just love it! (Please excuse the crumbs on his face. But really, I think it just adds to the realness of a 2 year old.)

Just a "Heads Up"

Look at those eyes....

They sure look brown to me!

Me 'n My Dad

Hudson always has a blast hanging out with his Dad. They had a blast at a Dad's Playgroup at PAT. They ate yummy food.
He played in the sand and made sandcastles (which to him is pretty much anything that he does in the sand).Hudson tested out the airplane. He drove the bus.He drove some cars around. He got some gas and then took off again.Life is always more fun when you are chilling with Dad!

Big Roller

Hadley rolled from her belly to her back today! Wahoo! She is starting to like tummy time more too now that her neck muscles are stronger and she can hold up her noggin for longer.

Big Kids

Hadley got her shots this week. I must say, I didn't really notice a difference with her. She pretty much still slept a lot and was a happy baby. Hudson kept asking for a shot because he saw other kids getting stickers and he said he wanted one to. He likes to do things that Hadley does just because we think they are fun. He sits in her swing, her bouncer seat and her car seat. Luckily, she is never in it when he gets in. I thought this was a funny picture of him in her seat. Caught in the act!
Hadley is officially a big chunk too. She weighs 12 pounds 6 oz and is in the 98% for weight. She grew 2 inches this last month and is now 23 inches long and is in the 92%. She is a BIG girl. Sadly, but true, her head is only at the 50%. I am sure it will catch up because we like our babies with nice big round heads around here!

The Huff 'N Puff

We had such a great time at the Huff 'n Puff last weekend. I haven't had the chance to be this close to hot air balloons since the days of the Boise River Fest (which I miss so much!). This was great though. Hudson was in awe of the balloons and it was so cool to watch the people get them off the ground and into the sky!It was beautiful weather too. I don't think it could have been more perfect!Hudson was running all around the grass and having a great time getting out energy, which was so nice for us!There was this guy right by us with his snake. He asked Hudson if he wanted to pet it and Hudson just stepped right in there and touched it. I was completely grossed out by it but I am glad to see Hudson doesn't have my same fear of snakes. Yucky!I think my favorite part of the night was watching the balloons as it started to get darker. They would light up the whole balloon. It was beautiful! There is nothing like an easy going fun activity for the family. Thank goodness for Hadley being such a gem of a baby. She is up for whatever, whenever. We had a great time!

Do you want to know a secret...

Do you promise not to tell? Woah, oh, oh.
Beatles Rockband is pretty much the best game ever! This game promises to keep you up LaTe into the night! Gotta love the Beatles!!

Lucky Hudson

We went to the zoo last week and I thought these were some funny pictures. Hudson thought it was great that this guy was sitting right there. The boys kept looking at him and waving to him. He flashed us his teeth a few times. It was pretty cool!

Hudson was also able to go to Father and Sons with his Dad for the very first time. They opted not to stay the night (we have heard too much about Kansas bugs) but they still had a good time. It was fun to have a night with the girls and make some fun things. Next time, I will force Mike to take the camera. He didn't feel up to it this time. I know it's a lot of pressure and all...if he takes pictures, I might just make him blog about it!

2 months old!

Hadley is now 2 months old. Man, it goes so fast! She is such a happy baby. I think she takes after Huds a bit. She is way smiley and super chill. She loves to be held but is very content to lay by you or to swing or be in her bouncer seat. She is into kicking her legs a ton right now. She will be in her bouncer and just kick them like crazy! I always say kick, kick, kick to her in a sing song voice and Hudson will run over and show me his kicking skills too. Guess he doesn't want to be looked over!

Hadley is sleeping SO good now. I had just been looking at Hudson's book and realized he started sleeping through the night about 2 1/2 months so I was thinking Hadley better get with it. But she got right on that. She has slept at least 7-8 hours the last 3 or 4 nights so I am hoping we are on a pattern now. She is getting into more of a routine but still likes to sleep or eat whenever. She loves to be talked to and really likes Hudson, especially when he doesn't get quite so close to her face when he is showing her things. She loves to wear pink...or at least I think she does so pretty much everything she wears is pink. She rarely cries unless she is hungry and even then, I try to catch her before she gets to that stage. She is starting to show more personality too which is really fun. She loves baths and always coos during the whole thing. She is okay with tummy time for a bit and then really gets sick of it. But she lasts longer at the happy stage way longer than Hudson ever did. We go back and forth on her eye color. Sometimes they look so blue and other times they look like they could be brown, so I guess time will tell.

I decided she couldn't get growth pictures by a baseball bat like Hudson so we had to go out and get her a doll last month to take her pictures by. Here is the two month one:

Sensory Overload

PAT has a new fun playgroup once a month. This month was focusing on senses. They had a lot of fun activities for each of our senses.
Hudson loved painting with the glue and ripping off the tissue paper. It was cool how it left the color behind. He got wrapped up tight. Kind of like swaddling for big kids. Just like it is for babies, this is supposed to have a calming effect on them.Hudson was smooshing this around. Its painting for kids that don't like to get their hands too dirty. You get to mix the paint color by kneading this bag and then you cut a small hole in the corner of it and paint. Mike was messing around with the blue one and splattered it on the table and up onto my face. It was pretty funny.
Hudson is making a paw print. It was fun to "wash" his foot with a cotton ball and baby oil and then have him step in the cornstarch. Then we put his foot down on the "dirt" which was really a brown wool/felt material. You spray it with hairspray and walah! You have a paw print.
This is us having lots of fun. Obviously Hudson is more concerned with playing than posing!
Hudson really wasn't so sure about these spaghetti noodles. You use them to trace over letters or numbers on laminated cards. I think he just thought the noodles were pretty yucky.
Hudson and I both got into this shaving cream painting. We had the whole mirror covered by the end. It was pretty fun. He got some on my face which he thought was pretty funny!
Here he is at the end enjoying the snacks. It was yummy! They had the new Ritz brown sugar and cinnamon crackers which are pretty darn good. Try them if you haven't yet. And some pretzel nuggets filled with peanut butter that I couldn't get away from. We also did a sensory activity with cold and hot. One rock was just out so it was "cold" and the other one was being warmed up by a heating pad so the kids could feel the "hot" sensation of it. And for the sense of smell, they had these little containers with different things inside of them to smell. They had ketchup, mustard, relish, jasmine, spicy salsa, and a bunch of others. Hudson really liked that. It was a ton of fun and I got some great ideas of other things to do with Hudson at home.

The Royal Treatment

We got a big group together and went to a Kansas City Royals game. My friend Casey and I banished our hubbies to their own car so we could chat it up during the drive there. We ended up getting FREE reserved parking at the game too. We are not really sure how we did it. We think it was our charm and great personalities. But our hubbies are still wondering if we showed them some skin or something!! haha

At the game, it was dollar night so we got hot dogs, drinks and peanuts galore. Huds was a HUGE fan of the peanuts. I think he ate a bag and a half by himself! Mike will be thrilled I posted this picture of him! haha Hadley was a champ during the whole thing. She pretty much just slept and cuddled everyone. The weather was great too which we were a little worried about since it said earlier in the week that it was supposed to be raining. But it was even dry enough to do fireworks. The only downside was that there was a slight breeze that pushed the smoke towards us so you could barely see the great firework show behind it. But it was still a lot of fun!

Girl's Night Afterparty

So we had our first JRC girl's night on Thursday at On the Border. It was a lot of fun even though I was bummed they had to split us into two tables...makes it a little hard to talk to everyone. But we had a HUGE turnout so I guess they do what they have to do! Anyway, just as we were leaving the restaurant, my friend notices a guy laying down on the pavement in the parking lot. Kind of random. We go out to leave and decide to have a front row seat to the action. Of course, I am the dork with a camera in my purse. We never really did find out what was going on with him but our waitress said he was acting pretty weird before he went outside. Then we were able to watch all of the fireman and paramedics do their work getting him onto a gurney. It was kind of exciting...guess that tells you what kind of days I usually have if I found this exciting! haha

I am sure they will love the fact that I posted this picture and all, but I thought it was too funny. Casey is listening to me tell her I am taking their picture and Laura can't stop watching the action!! Classic! Thanks everyone to a great girl's night!!
