Something Blue…

So when we bought our house, I knew right away I would be repainting this wall. Nothing against whoever painted it, but it just doesn’t go with my stuff/décor. It is one of the first things you see when you walk in our house too.

Here it is a little lighter, and a little less blue:

I should take another picture now that our new couch is back in its place and paint supplies are put away…but maybe another day.

Still no pictures hung up yet but one day…..

House

So we closed on our house March 6th. It was exciting but not real exciting since we haven't moved in yet! There are renters in the house so we had to legally give them a 30 day notice. So we will be moving in at the latest April 6th. The renters are fantastic though and keep the place in immaculate condition. Long random story but they know my uncle which makes me feel so much more at ease with the situation and less stressed!!

I cannot wait to move in though. We went by on Saturday to take some couch fabric samples so we could match it with the carpet and I still can't believe its OUR house now!! Crazy...probably won't feel totally real until we move in. Oh, the projects we have!

House Update

Yeppers, we put 3 offers in on houses before one worked out. I was actually kind of getting sick of looking at houses. I know. Write that one down in the history books. Mostly I was just annoyed that the house selection was so few and far between. People, put your houses on the market. I joked with Mike that I was about to go knocking door to door and beg people!

We found a house we love in a neighborhood we love too. We are closing March 6th and cannot wait to get into our own place again. (no offense to the fam...we will miss them too but I am sure they would like their quiet house back!) I am excited to be so close to the elementary school Hudson will be going to...within blocks! And our preschool teacher we adore is opening up a place out by our new house so Miss Hadley is SOOO excited she gets to start there in the fall. She talks about going to preschool all the time.

More pics of the house to follow. But it was built in 2007, has 2891 sq ft and is 4 beds and an office, 3 baths, with an upstairs bonus room. I have some ideas of decor already thought out in my mind...mostly my HUGE upstairs craft/office I get. I cannot wait. Once we move, it will be a HUGE list of projects to begin. But that is the fun part right???

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year consisted of us making treats at home during the day and going to family's house for dinner that night. It has been since 2007 that we have been with family for Christmas so this was quite the treat!Then we came home after a ton of great food and treats to open up one gift. The kiddos are each allowed to open a gift on Christmas Eve but it is always the jammies I made them.
They were just so excited to open a present!

Bounce

Mike took a few days off of work and we headed to Bounce. It is FULL of large bounce areas.
The kids had a blast sliding down.

Mike and I had some fun there too.
Mike splurged and got them these cool drink cups too. (I think he is the nicer parent!) We had a blast and can't wait to go again.

Oh Blessed Day

Maycee was blessed the Sunday after Thanksgiving. She looked beautiful. I did not originally plan on making her her own dress but since everything is in storage and so was the blessing dress I made Hadley, I figured I might as well.

I loved the flowers on her dress and she had matching headband and shoes.

We took a few family shots before the blessing.

Most of mine I was not about to post because I was still sporting that “extra baby weight double chin” going on.

But it was a great day and we had some family in town come as well as Mike’s sister from SLC and her husband came up to represent his fam. We were so grateful to everyone for coming and for the support everyone has given us. It is nice to be back by family and be able to see them all a little more often.

Life is Busy

Life just gets crazier and crazier. I thought maybe once we were done with schooling things would ease up. I guess they never will. At least we don’t have to deal with the school side of life anymore though. But the rest of it is just busy and three kids that outnumber us is pretty insane. If it wasn’t for my mom and stepdad, I think the transition would have been even more rough! They are HUGE lifesavers!!

Here was my weekend:

On Thursday night, I went with my mom to scrapbooking night with a bunch of my aunts/cousins. I have seriously been missing out the last few years. We made some darling gift boxes. I got a good craft fix!

On Friday, my fun crazy aunt from SLC flew up and all of my aunts and a few cousins went out to lunch. It is always fun times when we get together. You never quite know what will happen!

On Saturday we went to Boise State and watched the game down at the Student Union Building. I hadn’t been there since probably when I was attending Boise State back in 2000. Wow! That was a LONG time ago!! The game was awesome, the snacks good and the company was great!

Yesterday, Miss Maycee and I went to our first full Sunday of church. It was good times and definitely had been missed. The only downside to it was that we missed out on our 3 hour nap!

I have been working on some new patterns for my shop here. Some are listed, some are waiting to be typed. I swear my to do list just gets longer and longer!!

We also have a dress up party for Mike’s work to get clothes for. I haven’t ever had to wear a cocktail dress…well not since like 2001 or something crazy like that. I think I need some more dress up functions to go to. It has been WAY too long!!

Luckily we are almost done Christmas shopping and I hope we get a chance to “enjoy” the season instead of just being bombarded by everything there is to do.

This is good…

Just a few things that are good right now:

 

Hadley did give up her paci and is taking naps again despite the fact that she is getting all FOUR back molars right now.

 

Maycee slept for SEVEN whole hours last night. Yes. It is pure bliss.

 

Hudson is still loving preschool. And he LOVES to count to 100 for me all by himself while he waits for his lunch.

 

We met with our mortgage lady right before Thanksgiving…who is AWESOME by the way. And this week we are meeting with our realtor for the first time. I CANNOT wait. I want to be in a new house SO bad! I love our family and all but having our own house again has been 4 1/2 years in the making and I am giddy to get painting, decorating, wainscoting, and everything else that is all about having  a house!!!

Yummmm

It has been FIVE years since we have been with family for Thanksgiving.

So that is what we are thankful for this year.

We went to my Aunt’s house for Halloween. It was SO much fun! I forgot how great it is to have family get togethers over the holidays!! It has definitely been a LONG time coming!!

Both kiddos loved trick or treating and came back with a lot of loot…Mike and I enjoyed the 2 full sized candy bars each kiddo got. Trick or treating is the best!!!
