Seasick

On Tuesday night when I was putting the kiddos to bed (cuz Mike was at work late), Hudson said the prayer. He started out with his usual please bless us that there won’t be any bad guys or silly guys in our dreams. Then I interrupted him and told him he needed to remember to be thankful for things and say those things first. So he starts off saying he is thankful for Fuzz and his whole family. Then he says please bless our family that we won’t ever ever be sick again. And please bless us that we won’t be seasick if we ever go out on a boat in the water.

I was like, where is he getting this from? Then he told me afterwards that he told his preschool teacher that when he was in my belly that we went on a boat and got seas sick. Not sure he heard that from, since it isn’t true but I had to laugh anyway. He says the most random things.

Midnight Oil

Mike has a great job. Can’t complain about it at all. The people are great. He enjoys the work and he has fantastic hours. He had to stay Monday night til about midnight and turn around and head back there by 7ish the next morning. This is only the 3rd time in about 10 months that he has had to work past 5 so really, we can’t complain.

I am just grateful he is willing to work so hard to support our family. Glad I got myself a good “one”.

Last Week

Last week was a bit insane. Huds was sick with bronchitis which turned into pneumonia. Hadley got pneumonia and was hacking like an old smoker man, til she gagged or threw up sometimes. It was a ball of fun. No one slept well. No one ate well. Hudson laid around on the couch and napped a lot. A first for him.

I was ready to get out of the house with some serious cabin fever. I also dropped my phone in the toilet for the first time ever. Why did it have to be with a phone that was only 2 weeks old?? Oh well. It’s only money literally down the drain, right? haha

Glad that the things that matter are finally feeling better. A new phone is here even though it is not as good as  my first one. Weird.

Glad we survived through last week.

4 and 5 months

4 months

5 months

Maycee Moo is now 5 months...where did the time go? I kept meaning to post her 4 month picture and I think I totally spaced it. Now that she is 5 months, we can just post them both.

Maycee is a BIG eater, but she did not like her rice cereal as much as we all thought she would. She pretty much freaked and refused to eat much of it until we added applesauce a few days later. She has since had peas which she didn't like much, squash which she didn't like much either and sweet potatoes which she likes pretty well. She is our very first picky eater as a baby. Both the other kids never seemed bothered by any of the food. Mace definitely lets it be known that she does NOT like stuff.

Maycee is a good sleeper even though sometimes she still thinks she needs to eat once at night. (Wrong I say!! haha) She loves to play with Hudson and Hadley. She loves attention from them as long as it isn't too much attention.

She loves to play on her play mat and is okay with being on her tummy for a time. She loves to hold toys and chew on them even though Hadley gets mad at her and tells her she can't do that.

She has found her feet and loves to hold onto them. She loves to roll from her tummy to her back but she doesn't seem to do it for anyone but Hadley and me.

She is more smiley than Hadley was but a little less than Hudson. Just right in between. She has a similar temperament too, right in the middle.

She is such a cutie and loves to snuggle. She loves to sleep with her blanket over her face.

House

So we closed on our house March 6th. It was exciting but not real exciting since we haven't moved in yet! There are renters in the house so we had to legally give them a 30 day notice. So we will be moving in at the latest April 6th. The renters are fantastic though and keep the place in immaculate condition. Long random story but they know my uncle which makes me feel so much more at ease with the situation and less stressed!!

I cannot wait to move in though. We went by on Saturday to take some couch fabric samples so we could match it with the carpet and I still can't believe its OUR house now!! Crazy...probably won't feel totally real until we move in. Oh, the projects we have!

Smiles

Love her smiles

Tea Time

Hadley and Hudson have been having all sorts of tea parties since Hadley got a tea set for Christmas. We have been playing restaurant a lot. I get to call them sir and ma'am. I remind them in my waitress voice that they can't sit on the table and they have to have manners. For some reason, this seems to hit home and they listen a lot faster than when I use my "mom" voice. Guess kids really do learn quickly to tune out your voice!! Or maybe it is more fun when you are playing a game. Either way, I like playing tea party too when the "cake" is fudge. Yummy!

House Update

Yeppers, we put 3 offers in on houses before one worked out. I was actually kind of getting sick of looking at houses. I know. Write that one down in the history books. Mostly I was just annoyed that the house selection was so few and far between. People, put your houses on the market. I joked with Mike that I was about to go knocking door to door and beg people!

We found a house we love in a neighborhood we love too. We are closing March 6th and cannot wait to get into our own place again. (no offense to the fam...we will miss them too but I am sure they would like their quiet house back!) I am excited to be so close to the elementary school Hudson will be going to...within blocks! And our preschool teacher we adore is opening up a place out by our new house so Miss Hadley is SOOO excited she gets to start there in the fall. She talks about going to preschool all the time.
Here is the kitchen:And the bonus room:
More pics of the house to follow. But it was built in 2007, has 2891 sq ft and is 4 beds and an office, 3 baths, with an upstairs bonus room. I have some ideas of decor already thought out in my mind...mostly my HUGE upstairs craft/office I get. I cannot wait. Once we move, it will be a HUGE list of projects to begin. But that is the fun part right???

3 month old Maycee

(Back on Jan 7th.....) Miss Maycee is 3 months old. Time flies and babies chunk up. I liked the above pic because I thought it looked a lot like a mug shot. haha

Her diapers are starting to not fit well because of her many rolls on her thighs.
She coughs and toots at the same time.
She is a happy girl by day and a somewhat serious gal at night.
She loves her Grandma and Grandpa L.
Her siblings she is not so sure of since they like to talk to her about an inch from her face. Sometimes she just likes to lay on the ground and kick her legs.
Still no teeth although she seems to be fighting them on and off.
She has some serious baby blues...eyes that is.
She has two little dimples in her cheeks that come out when she smiles really big.
She eats ALL the time during the day.
She is not a big fan of tummy time but she is getting good at keeping her head up.
She likes her paci when she wants and when she doesn't, she definitely lets you know.
She is a very chill baby.
